Top Essex Steam Train Hotel Reviews

Quality Inn Old Saybrook - Westbrook

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is not new but was clean and everything worked well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel price was very reasonable."

A Perfect Getaway. Direct assess to the 1000 acre Old Saybrook Essex Preserve

10/10 Excellent

"This is a beautiful property and the setting is priceless."

The Millhouse Downtown Chester

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay in Chester at this spot! The space was even larger than the pictures made it seem and everything was thoughtful and perfectly appointed. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was clean and large, and the hosts were communicative and helpful. The location couldn't have been better - a momentary walk to all the quaint shops, restaurants, and perches in Chester center (Three Fates was our favorite!). Will definitely recommend this spot to friends in the area."

Copper Beech Inn

8/10 Good

"Rooms were nice, restaurant was nice and staff was great in restaurant. We picked this hotel because they have a restaurant and a bar for a drink after dinner, it was 8:30 and he was closing the bar he said it was no problem, he made the drink and gave us our bill at the same time did not talk at all and a little rude. I also read they have live music and they did not."

Downtown Essex Apartment - Steps to River!

10/10 Excellent

"What an amazing little spot in Historic Essex. Highly recommend!"

Authentic 1795 Historic Homestead w/ Private Grounds for Gatherings and Retreats

10/10 Excellent

"Historic home in great shape for 1795. The only concern for me was the steep steps to the upstairs with my bad knees. The bedrooms upstairs are spacious and lots of beds. It is a perfect place for a big gathering. Plenty of kitchen equipment, pots/pans/dishes/glassware/serving dishes to entertain. The host, Yvette, was amazing. She responded very quickly with any question. The best I've ever dealt with."

Historic Essex Home w/ Large Yard Near Downtown!

10/10 Excellent

"My adult children and I came down from Maine to spend some time with a beloved elderly relative and this property could not have been better. It was very clean, well-appointed, charming, comfortable, close to all the shops and restaurants and had a truly lovely and private yard complete with sweet cottontails and Carolina wrens and catbirds! We hope to be back and recommend this rental highly."
