"I was very happy with the choice of staying at this place. I stayed for two months and was able to cook. The beds were comfortable and the space felt large. There is a large front porch with rocking chairs that has views of the mountains. So when it rains you can still hang out on the porch. The sunset clouds are so beautiful. There is the most wonderful local family that overseas the property. The only downside is the road up to the place is really rough."

"The house overseas the kiosks on the beach. An absolute breathtaking view. The house itself is stunning. Very well kept and clean. There is a family that takes care of the house and makes sure you are satisfied with any needs. 5 mins before getting to the house, you will be met with steep slopes but definitely possible and safe. "The staff was very helpful. My Spanish is not good but they understood me fine. The manager/owner speaks very good English and is a real nice guy. He and his wife are very friendly and helpful. The place is only a few blocks from the beach and very affordable. No noisy bars just peace and quite. The place was clean and quite with great AC. You can use the kitchen to cook and they always have free drinking water available. Right next to a park and playground for kids and their prices can't be beat."

"Beautiful property in SJDS . As a family of 4 with 2 kids under 10 this had everything we needed . Food is on the pricier side but one breakfast drink & item is included daily with your stay (portions were big) . Daily shuttle will take you closer to the beach as it is not walking distance. Unfortunately, some of the things advertised on their social media such as “access to a private beach” were not accessible , they could not get us a shuttle to the private beach or provide a clear follow up on why so that was kind of a bummer. Otherwise, the resort itself was amazing."

"Absolutely loved the stay here. The property was stunning. The beach was pristine and quiet, boogie boarding was so much fun for our son. The ocean view was spectacular. I also particularly loved the air conditioning units over the bed, they made a real difference! The reasons for my non 5/5 reviews are this: 1) I’m a big runner/walker. This place was advertised as being able to explore the 4000 hectares solo or with guide. I understand they’ve had challenges with the new highway, but none the less the maps made no sense, nor were there any markers on the trails. I tried to explore beyond the new highelway and either came across trails no longer in use, or confusion from the less than spectacular map. 2) the shrimp farm was dry and not in operation. Rather false advertising on both the website and on the menu advertising “Morgan’s rock shrimp” 3) menu prices are absolutely outrageous. We did eat there at dinner, our choice for not driving 30+ minutes to town and back. No reason at all for a $50 that was “good” but absolutely not worth this price nor justified for the quality of food. The farm breakfast was great."

The staff is super helpful, management is very flexible and accomodating (they worked with us so that we could have breakfast earlier than they open), the views are amazing and the place is very spacious, which is great for families with kids who like to explore and play freely outdoors. The one constraint worth mentioning is that depending on where your house is located on the property, it can be a 20-25 minute walk on a hill to the town, which can be tricky to navigate with food. That said, if you have a car, that will not be an issue and you can always get a local taxi to help you out. I still highly recommend this hotel and it's definitely worth 5 stars in my book!"
