"The apartment is nice, though it does need some remodeling. Marianela, the host, was very hospitable—an excellent person. The one exception was Sunday, when the power and water went out—though that is beyond the host's control and is a city issue. However, the place is cozy; just be sure to arrive in an SUV or off-road vehicle, as you have to drive up steep trails that a standard car wouldn't be able to handle."

"I was very happy with the choice of staying at this place. I stayed for two months and was able to cook. The beds were comfortable and the space felt large. There is a large front porch with rocking chairs that has views of the mountains. So when it rains you can still hang out on the porch. The sunset clouds are so beautiful. There is the most wonderful local family that overseas the property. The only downside is the road up to the place is really rough."

"It was a bad experience. The refrigerator did not work. The coffee maker had moldy coffee in it. The electric was limited so you couldn't run ac most of the time. The wires to the heated water in the shower were cut and exposed so you don't have hot water and risk electrocution. The pictures in the ad must be 10 years old because it doesn't look like that now. "L’équipe de l’hôtel est vraiment très gentil. Calmes, souriants, accueillants et présents. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient très propres. Grande salle de bain, lits très confortables, restaurant abordables et nourriture excellente. À une maison de la plage. À marée basse, parfaite pour la baignade, le surf débutant et le bodyboard. "I've been coming back for more than 20 years, even before the new owners upgraded everything. This hotel is the best value in San Juan Del Sur. Next to cathedral and main park, walk to everything. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and fully bilingual. The neighborhood while very close in is quiet and safe. Its just below Pelican Eyes at half the price. Rooms and beds light, airy and comfortable even at the lower price point. All town's amenities are a few steps away."

"Pros Amazing, gorgeous, breathtaking private beach with palm trees and white sand, kayaks, hamacs, private spaces for each family. Room concept is really cool, no walls, just screens, we had the forest view one and really enjoyed the plunge pool with the kids. Would recommend this one with kids, it’s close to the main area and they liked the pool. The bed was really comfortable and the room felt new and clean. Employees go above and beyond, my son got sick and they gave us electrolytes and sent a cleaning crew after dark to pick up vomit. Security took care of us at 2:00 am for our luggage to the airport. Breakfast is included and pretty good. There are hiking trails onsite where you can find monkeys. The pool comes with a spa, heating it would’ve been nice but it was still appreciated. Massage service is available but pretty expensive, like all the amenities. Cons We paid 150$ usd for a one hour tour that we could’ve done by foot. Food was crazy expensive and good but nothing spectacular, 50-70$ usd for a plate in Nicaragua is insane. We recommend the pizza for lunch which is the only more affordable option (20 USD per pizza, feeds about 1 person) Airport shuttle was 288$ usd, we took our own for 85$ usd. A fridge in the room and black our blinds would be good additions. I would still absolutely recommend this hotel but bring your own car so you can eat out and do tours. It’s only 20 minutes from the main city of San Juan Del Sur. We will return (with a rental car)"
