Turtles and Toes is a peaceful and relaxing refuge that will refresh your mind and soul.
The 600 square foot updated and charming cottage RIGHT ON THE BEACH is where you can sunbathe, swim, snorkel, collect shells and sharks' teeth, and fish with a spectacular 180 degree exposure to the Gulf of America.
Sleep and wake to the soothing sounds of the surf. Walk or jog the 16 miles of the sandy key. Be endlessly entertained by shore birds, pelicans, dolphins, turtles and tortoises, all right at your doorstep. Go shell or sharks' teeth hunting or kayaking. Fly a kite, fish, or just chill out and be mesmerized by the emerald water. And you'll be amazed by the gorgeous sunsets followed by a star show that dips all the way into the sea.
You'll find a king-size bed and a wall-mounted 52" flat screen TV, Sonos, Wi-Fi, and a sleek, well-supplied kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, and a beautiful walnut island. The expansive terrace has two tables and chairs as well as chairs and umbrellas for the beach.
With health safety in mind, you may check in and check out independently.
But being the actual owners who live nearby, we are readily available!
We have very high cleanliness standards, disinfecting everything with the appropriate products.
The modernized Old Florida cottage is over the North Key drawbridge to Manasota Key and off a private lane. It is isolated, yet it is near shopping, 15 golf courses, restaurants, and the many amenities and events that Venice and Englewood have to offer.
Please be aware that large pick up trucks or any very large vehicle will have difficulty turning around in the driveway or lane.

Fabulous as always!

Our first stay post-hurricanes. The owners did a nice job repairing, updating and refining the property. The paver patio was very spacious and much more usable than the deck. It was nesting season, and we were able to witness three loggerhead turtles come ashore at night -- magical!The new palm trees offered breathtaking views at sunset. The cottage was fresh and new and wonderful!

AMAZING COTTAGE and even better hosts!

This cottage is the absolute perfect getaway! It has everything you need and then some. Spotlessly clean and updated. Location could not be better, plus our last night there, a giat sea turtle climbed the dune to within 20 feet of the cottage door! Picturesque views and steps from the surf just can’t be beat! Also we just can’t heap enough praise on the owners! The communication is the best we have ever experienced from a VRBO host! If VRBO has a best host award Joe & Donna should win it!

Great stay!

We had a great stay. The cottage is in a super location and very quiet surroundings. The cottage was extremely clean and very well-maintained, and had everything you needed. We would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

Perfect getaway

This property has a well stocked kitchen, great ocean views and is just steps to the beach. Great communication with owners and beach chairs, cooler and umbrella a real plus for those traveling by air!

Absolutely gorgeous! The property is wonderful! Beach is quiet. The house is completely stocked. Owners were easy to communicate with for check in details. We LOVED every second of our stay. We will definitely be back.

Right on the beach!

You can’t beat the location; steps from the beach and ocean. Far enough away from the public beach access so no crowded beach. The owners have really put a lot of love into the cottage, and are very responsive to messages.

magnificent views

Charming bungalow right on the beach with wonderful views. The sunsets were magical! The area was lovely! Fishing right from the beach was amazing. The shark teeth hunting was a new hobby as well. Loved it, would definitely rent again!

The location couldn’t be beat! There is a Walmart and Publix nearby. After grabbing a few things, we didn’t want to leave the little paradise on the beach. We would wake up and be just steps to the beach.

Excellent beachfront cottage

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Turtles and Toes cottage. The cottage looked exactly like the pictures. The location on the beach was excellent and we enjoyed hunting for shark teeth. The owners were kind to leave welcoming treats that were appreciated. If there was a problem, the owners were easy to reach and were helpful. The cottage is an absolute gem!

A stay in paradise

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The million dollar ocean view was the best. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided by our hosts We saw so much wild life but the snowy egret who popped by daily on the deck was a delight. We also got to see the turtle patrol walk a new baby turtle to the sea. The location made shark tooth hunting a real success . We would love to come back

A week in paradise

We had a wonderful week at the Turtles & Toes cottage. Property was very clean and inviting and stocked with everything we needed and more. The gorgeous view of the water welcomed us for our morning coffee and our evening margaritas on the deck. We even found some shark teeth on our daily walk on the beach. Neighbors were nearby but yet the cottage felt secluded. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway on the beach!

Swimming with the dolphins

We had a wonderful time at Turtles and Toes. The cottage was very comfortable. The sunsets were amazing and on many days during our stay the Gulf was as smooth as glass. We were delighted to see dolphins, several within 7 feet of the beach. When I was swimming, one day, one swam within 9 feet of me. Shark teeth are in abundance on the beach directly in front of the cottage. The beach was never very busy. We would definitely recommend this location. FYI I highly recommend Farlow’s on the water. Great food, beautiful patio, and great service.

Wow!!

The unobstructed view of the beach & water is mesmerizing. The sound of the crashing waves is therapeutic. Great beach spot for finding fossilized shark teeth. The cottage is clean & modern and has great amenities. The owners were quick to answer questions before the trip, so that we didn't have to worry about anything during our stay. Thanks for the treats! We would love to return to this awesome getaway!

A Slice Of Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful little home! Well appointed kitchen, comfy beds, lots of books and games (we played some very competitive scrabble games lol.) the owners also provided welcoming snacks and wine/beer upon our arrival - lovely gesture! We we're so lucky - the first morning a new awning was installed that provided so much shade! A must for us as we practically lived on the deck! The view is gorgeous! We brought a sunbrella-type beach umbrella but didn't feel the need to set it up as the deck is so close to the water! Thanks for a wonderful stay and we will be booking again!

Peaceful, steps to beach.. beautilful, secluded....

Donna was a great host and home had everything you would need. We were looking for a place directly on the beach away from people and this home delivered on both. There are houses around, but you really do not see when on deck. Took many quiet walks on beach. We saw Sea turtle Nests and collected many shark teeth by just walking ob beach. When I say many I mean about 2000! We would definitely stay at the home again. Most restaurants are about 15 minutes away, but once you learn the area it is very easy.

Perfect setting

We loved our stay at the little cottage. The location was perfect. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Very secluded and not crowded beach. Very short walk right out door to the beach. Everything you needed in the kitchen. Welcome gift of snacks a couple of drinks and bottle of wine. Unfortunately we had a little issue with red tide for a few days but we did not let that hamper our wonderful vacation. Will definitely return. Highly recommend for a couple wanting some nice quiet down time. Great restaurants just a short drive away. My husband spent hours collecting shark teeth while I gathered gorgeous shells.

Relax and Unwind!!!

Turtles and Toes is a fantastic, quiet, relaxing place to be. It is right on the beach in a residential area giving it a very private feel. Donna and Joe went over the top with their welcome. There was a bottle of wine with a cheese, fruit, and cracker plate along with some other goodies. My husband and I are regular VRBO travelers and would rate Turtles and Toes as one of the best places we have stayed at. It has everything needed to feel at home. Turtles and Toes is well appointed, very clean, and has a great location with access to many restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend this wonderful place. Beautiful Views and Amazing Beach

This place was just what we needed to relax and unwind. We had breakfast on the porch every morning and drinks in the evenings as we watched the sun go down. Moochie came to visit a couple of times. We also saw him on the beach hanging out with the fishermen. The water was warm and perfect for swimming. There was a light breeze making it just right to sit on the beach and soak in the sun. We also took advantage of the provided information and supplies and tried our hand at shark tooth hunting. We found literally hundreds of them to take back to the grandkids. Donna was friendly and kept us well informed! Check in was easy. We had an amazing time and hope to get a chance to go back soon!
