Great place

We had a really nice stay. Great location - beautiful remodel! Beds were comfy plenty of kitchen supplies!! Fyi No AC - but okay at night if you leave windows open for coastal fresh air!!

Short Turkey Day Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Surf Shack over Thanksgiving while joining family camping at San Elijo State Beach. My husband, two teen daughters, and I spent a couple of nights here, and it was the perfect retreat. The place was impeccably clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable and spacious, providing plenty of room for my daughters to share a bed comfortably. The host was also very responsive and pleasant, making communication easy and stress-free. I highly recommend the Surf Shack to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-maintained getaway!

Wonderful little apartment with all the necessities and charm for a getaway!

This 2 bed, 1 bath apartment was perfectly packed with a beautiful design and all the necessities of a home. There were 5 of us, 2 of which were younger kiddos. We all fit well in the space and had a blast! The beds and linens were so wonderful and super comfortable. No AC, but fans were provided and we were able to enjoy the cool San Deigo breeze. Moonlight Beach and downtown Encinitas were about a 5 minute drive from the apartment. Lauren, the host, was so responsive and helpful! Highly recommend this apartment and we would stay again!!

Quick weekend stay

Easy check in/check out. Convenient area. The downstairs tenant complained about us within the first 10 minutes of our arrival, she did not like my young kiddos running around while we were unloading the car. The host was out of the country during our visit but her husband John was easy to communicate with via text. One of the beds broke our first night (when we sat on it) and he brought a new bed frame the next day. The unit was not very clean, the floor turned our feet black almost instantly. There was mold in the bathroom, hair/dust on most baseboards/windows, and stained furniture and carpets throughout. The newly remodeled kitchen was nice. We would not stay here again but it did meet our needs for a quick weekend.

So much fun!!

The property was amazing, and so nice, it does not have AC though but they did provide two fans. The area was super nice, wasn’t loud at night and it was very clean! Would definitely stay here again!

Cute & Good Location

Street number hard to find, but once identified, it is easy to access. Recently updated. No AC but okay when we stayed due to the marine layer & costal climate. I would not recommend for intermediate stay- no washer & dryer. Good for a few days. Beds very comfortable. Good communication from host.

The property could use wash cloths, more than 2 rolls of toilet paper, some tissues, working bathroom lighting, and clean bed covers, furniture and curtains. The microwave should NEVER be placed above someone’s head! Anyone under 5’5” would have a hard time reaching it. The risk of burn is way too high!
