"Our two-night stay in Cabin #3 was fantastic. Check-in was quick and easy, and the cabin was super quiet, incredibly clean, and exceptionally cozy. It was fully stocked with plenty of everything, from fresh bathroom towels and amenities to a well-equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils we needed. While there wasn’t indoor sitting space in the cabin, the mesh-covered porch area was a lifesaver. It allowed us to sit and eat comfortably at the table while completely protected from the heavy mosquitoes. The smart TV was a great touch, but the absolute highlight was the double-line curtains, which were amazing for blocking out the sun when it stayed up until 10 PM. Highly recommend!"
The Rusty Salmon Lake House with Deck, Dock, Canoe and Kayaks
10/10 Excellent
"This place is such a treat! If you're reading this, stop hesitating and just book it! The patio is great, the lake surreal. Just make sure you bring some bug spray, like everywhere else in Alaska, the mosquitoes can get to be a bit much."
"The house is in a fantastic location, close to both Talkeetna and the drive to Denali, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. The home is spacious and well stocked with everything you could need during your stay. After spending a week in hotels, this was a welcome change. It was so nice to relax, cook dinner, and catch up on laundry. We truly appreciated having a comfortable place to unwind and would definitely stay here again."
"Comfortable accommodations. Our room was spacious and we slept great. The proprietor Dawn provided excellent service. Extremely knowledgeable about the area. On clear day have fantastic view of Denali. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Brookes the dog stole our hearts. "
Talkeetna's Mount Dall Cottage - WiFi&laundry - easy access from Parks Highway!

"Stay: Late-May, 2026
This place was fantastic! Perfect for what we were doing--a quick one-night stay in Talkeetna, and then on to Denali NP. This little cottage is every bit as quaint and charming as shown in the Expedia listing. The place is about 2.5 hours to Denali, so it's a great mid-stopping place to take in a great area. It's clean, well-appointed, aesthetically pleasing, and yet very utilitarian.
If you're a couple just looking to "chill" for two or three days before you hit Denali NP hard--do it here. You won't be sorry. Take a nap, do some reading, binge a favorite show, take an incredibly beautiful hike, walk or stroll, rent a bike, work on your photography skills, whatever. Then head into town for breakfast, lunch or dinner and take in some great Alaskan culture.
I'd do this place again without hesitation."
