Top Emigrants Monument Hotel Reviews
Royal Marine Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean, staff were friendly and courteous. Dinner and breakfast were good."
The Bridge Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"We chose the Bridge Hotel as a stopover on our way to the ferry at Scrabster. The hotel is in a lovely period building just opposite the old bridge/river. We were greeted by a roaring real fire in the characterful entrance/lounge. It has a grand feel with lots of interesting cabinets /curios and prints on the walls. Our 2nd floor room was spacious with good views to the hillside. The was plenty of choice in the breakfast room next morning. A perfect stopover..."
Bannockburn Inn
10/10 Excellent
"The inn had a lot of character. Someone there really likes flowers and put much effort into the garden area."
Golspie Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Arrive late, after 10PM. Straight in to room. Large sunny room, with shower - bath. Proper double bed, firm but soft. EV charger at low rate Bar still open so managed a drink. Breakfast was a meal for the day"
North Coast 500 Pods
10/10 Excellent
"The pod we stayed in was excellent, very well thought out and everything we needed was available, we were on a road trip from wiltshire, and the location was a perfect stop off before our last leg to John O'Groats, there is also an excellent beach nearby."
Helmsdale Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent accommodation, way above hostel standard. Spotlessly clean, plenty hot water. Ensuite shower-room, large well-appointed kitchen. Peaceful and quiet. Well-mamaged."
Golspie, Firthview, A cosy seafront escape
8/10 Good
"The property was nice and clean. Parking was easy, right on the property. Located right on the beach and footpath, so the ocean view was nice. The owner supplied all of the usual conveniences in the kitchen and bath. I was concerned about the Alexa device that seemed to be always listening, so we unplugged it. The radiator beside the tele was emitting an electronic signal, but I could not find the actual source. We were unable to operate the heating, so it was a little chillier than we expected. It was 16C when we arrived and gradually worked its way up to 18C without use of a heating system. The owner was responsive to our communications, but we didn't ask about the heating. Perhaps we should have.Golspie is a very nice little town and a nice stop over point from Thurso to Inverness."
Ground floor 2-bedroom spacious apartment overlooking the famous James Braid Brora Golf Course.
8/10 Good
"The apartments are in an amazing location, and are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is also well stocked in terms of utensils, and the beds are also very comfortable. Small things to improve would be sharper kitchen utensils, a more powerful cooking hob and easily understandable instructions for the heating. However, they are relatively small niggles that should not discourage people from booking. I'd definitely go again."
3 bedroom accommodation in Lothmore, Helmsdale
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great 3 weeks … stunning views and a great cottage … wished we could’ve stayed longer… a very well equipped kitchen with an abundance of crockery to use … the fires were amazing on a cold evening… and the sky TV was a great addition too …The only negative comment was the lack of storage in the bathrooms … maybe a couple of shelves on the walls to store toiletries would benefit the cottage"
