Indran and John were so kind and helpful. They really made us feel at home. John''s cooking was delicious, the view from our balcony was spectacukar, and our room was clean and comfortable. We loved our stay at the Ella Alpine Resort.

A great place with unbelievable views from the balcony. Breakfast was amazing and the staff very friendly and attentive. The room was large and clean and i had a very pleasant sleep. Recommended!!

We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t recommend this place more. The view makes this property extra special. What really stood out was the staff — they were excellent, genuinely caring, and always ready to help with anything. Their kindness made our stay even more memorable. Lovely hotel, with an amazing view of the mountains from our balcony. Very comfortable bed and the staff were friendly and helpful. 15 minute walk from Ella City which makes it feel very peaceful.

The room was nice and clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The only real downside was the location which was up at the top of a very steep road which a lot less accessible than portrayed. However, the views from the property were amazing and it was nice to be away from the crazy traffic and noise of Ella town.

Perfect Place to Stay!

This is the perfect place to stay! Beautiful/modern facility, excellent breakfast/dinner options and able to walk into town. Very spacious room with a stunning view of the mountain side. The staff could not have been more helpful/nice/attentive.

A really lovely accommodation with the most incredible views. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony so you wake up to a view of the mountails The host Priyanatha is so warm, welcoming and always available to help. Breakfast was lovely (especially the hoppers). A short walk (or tuk tuk) into town. Loved my stay here! Thank you!

The resort enjoys a wonderful view of the valley and the staff are incredibly friendly. Each room enjoys a breathtaking view and a high risk of visits by the local monkeys. We ranked the resort as average because of the price point and poor amenities. The property is twice as expensive as neighboring properties, but without the amenities or services. We would have given 4 or 5 stars if the property presented itself as a hostel and not like a resort. Also of note, guests are required to climb steep stairs to enter or depart the property.

“I recently stayed here, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. When I first looked it up, I saw some older reviews that were negative, but those were from years ago when the building wasn’t finished. Now, it’s a beautifully built place—spotlessly clean, no bugs (which can be an issue in Ella), with a comfortable bed, spacious room, and a pristine bathroom. Everything was just perfect. But the real highlight was the view. From the balcony, I saw the most breathtaking sunrises and panoramas you can find in Ella. The service was outstanding. Priyanath and his team, including the chef and another staff member, were incredibly attentive and always went above and beyond to meet my requests—whether it was arranging a budget-friendly car service or responding quickly on WhatsApp. Even the owner was always available and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting in the future. It’s a hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back

Simple and restful lodge!

A simple lodge with awesome views! I was gently greeted by the rising sun. No Aircon but temperatures were between 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the early morning. You need to be moderately fit to climb down 2 flights of stairs to reach your room. The road up is very tight and big cats may have difficulties going uphill in the tight environment. Hotel manager Priyanatha helped me book a very punctual Tuk Tuk that fetched me up and down. Thank you!

Nestled in Ella on WaterFalls Rd is the ‘Ella Alpine Resort’ offering a serene stay, great views and service. We booked a 4-night stay and our room was clean & comfortable. I requested a hair dryer and one was promptly delivered! Currently under new ownership and undertaking improvements, the owner kindly checked in via WhatsApp, before arrival, on arrival and during our stay. The new onsite manager, Priyanatha is also amazing! He was welcoming and made our stay very comfortable and memorable. Breakfast (if your room includes this) was always prepared fresh by the cook with delicious fresh fruit & juice each day to your liking or request. On one night we requested dinner (as we were returning late after a day trip) and this was made to our requests and was also yummy! The property is walking distance to the town Center or a tuk tuk will also get you there. Only issue is the road to access the property. I know this has nothing specifically to do with the Alpine Resort! However many hotels, resorts, home stays, rooms to rent are on this road and it would be awesome if they banded together to ensure access is improved. Currently some sections are narrow and difficult to drive making it difficult for cars and even the Tuktuks! Recommend this hotel for a wonderful getaway from the noise and bustle of the town. Night skies are just awesome!
