Charming and spacious 5BR located in the heart of Waitsfield. Close to amenities
10/10 Excellent
"This house was charming, well equipped, comfortable and everything we hoped for in an accommodation for our Christmas vacation. The house was exactly what we needed for our multi-generational stay over the week of Christmas. We traveled with with elderly(80 year old) grandparents, middle aged adults, and children (8, 10). There are three spacious bedrooms on the first (main) floor, including two with ensuite bathrooms. Upstairs, there are another two bedrooms and an additional bathroom. There are three steps to get from the driveway into the mud room and the rest of the house. Otherwise, the first floor is a single level and step free. We enjoyed the multiple eating and gathering areas, cozy fireplace and big screen, streaming-enabled TV.The location was perfect. It is walking distance to several dining, grocery, and adult beverage options. It was a great base for us to visit family in the area, as well as ski at sugarbush, and take in some of the other local attractions. The house is well equipped, and had everything we needed for cooking meals, plenty of storage, washer/dryer, etc. We enjoyed extras provided by the host, to include some local syrup and snacks. Mother nature also provided snow on most days. Accumulating nearly 10" during our stay. That was the proverbial icing on the cake. Can't say enough about this house, friendly and responsive host, and our enjoyable use of it."
"Everything went smoothly and casual, from check in to check out. Room was nice, bed was comfortable, and continental breakfast was substantial enough to fill us up. Coffee was very good! Reading room and game room were bonuses that would be great in poor weather. We highly recommend for non-snobby visitors! "
Charming Farmhouse in Waitsfield Village - Walk to River, Shops & More
8/10 Good
"We stayed here for Norwich University’s Family Weekend and had a fantastic experience. The interior was exactly as pictured—spacious, clean, and full of character. The exterior photo differed from the actual house, which caused brief confusion, but everything inside met expectations. Built in 1838, the home has charming quirks like uneven floors and steep stairs, which added character and were manageable—even for my mother who uses a cane. The master bathroom was uniquely designed and memorable. Backyard access from bedrooms was tricky—one door had a drop, the other was blocked by brush. Landscaping and lighting could be improved, especially near the porch and driveway, which was very dark at night. Check-in was smooth with clear instructions. The house comfortably fit our group of eight. The extra room with twin daybeds was perfect for my sons, and my niece used a trundle bed. Upstairs rooms were clean and cozy, each with a double bed. The kitchen was welcoming with coffee and snacks, and the dining room was a great gathering spot. The back porch had lovely views—we even saw deer! Though backyard steps were uneven, the scenery was worth it. After years of staying in various towns for Family Weekend, I wish we’d found this home sooner. Its charm and proximity to Norwich made it a standout. I hope it’s available for graduation in May!"
"Place was very nice. Only complaint was address didn’t match up to location, but we found it. Location of unit was confusing too. Otherwise it was great!"
