A wheelchair user's opinion
I have rated this hotel excellent for most things but I am a wheelchair user and want to let other wheelchair users know the problems I found. There was no left-hand fold-down support for the toilet, only a vertical mounted grab rail. The bed was a bit too high for my liking. There are steps at the front of the hotel with disabled access at the back. The access road is cobbled, a disadvantage if you aren't using a car. But if you are using a car there are 2 disabled car parking spaces available for £15 per night beside the back door. To access the reception and the breakfast room there are 2 open wheelchair lifts each to raise you about 4 steps. On one of the days we were there the lift to the breakfast room was broken and the staff had to give us a table in the bar area and help to help carry our food to the table for us. The free breakfast was good. And another good thing was room 123 had a roll-in. shower. I could cope with the problems mentioned above and will use this hotel again.
