"We really enjoyed our stay at Deerhaven. The hosts John and Matt responded right away with any of our concerns or questions and the place was well stocked with towels and supplies we felt right at home. The views were amazing we saw a couple of deer and wild turkeys, squirrels and a turtle come up the mountain in the yard. The bed was very comfy plenty of blankets and pillows. We definitely recommend a stay at Deerhaven we give it 5 Stars. John and Denise"

"We didn't spend a lot of time at the property during our trip. We explored the Shenandoah Valley. Being right on the river was lovely. My husband fished a bit and there was a heron that visited every morning. We used both bedrooms because the bed in the main room was up against the wall and the bed itself was very tall, so I would have woken my husband up when I went to bed. Decent water pressure in the bath and kitchen. Only wish was we would have liked to have a toaster, or maybe a microwave in the unit. Wifi was good. Nice and quiet area. Host was great about communicating."

"This was a tough one to rate. There are a lot of positive parts to this rental. We loved the sunroom, the privacy, the quiet, the views, and the central access to Shenandoah county. However, there were a number of small issues that we struggled with. The overall cleanliness had some room for growth as there was a good amount of dust throughout the house (pretty thick is some spots like the ceiling fans, fake plants, etc.), the fridge had a filtered water jug that was was a bit dirty, the bathroom wasn't the cleanest, and the hot tub was pretty dirty with debris and hair and smelled a bit funky. As pets are allowed, the place smelled a bit like dog. The beds were soft, but one seemed like it was falling apart. At least one towel had holes in it. The dishwasher was broken too which really wasn't a big deal. Now we really did enjoy our stay, but felt that this place could use a little love.(Also, I don't know if it was just me and I missed something or misunderstood, but to get access to the welcome guide provided by the owner via their online check-in process we had to either pay 38 non refundable fee or pay 1000 which was refundable. That seemed odd.)"

"This is truly a lovely house, with beautiful grounds. The renovations were very well done, the kitchen particularly so. Probably the best amenities in a kitchen I've ever enjoyed in a VRBO house (six burner stove plus two ovens -what's not to like). Also some nice touches in the bathrooms for guests. The property maintenance team was responsive to small fixes and repairs. The small barrel grill out back was found useless when we arrived and the back patio picnic table was storm damaged, but within several days we had a new table, and chairs, new umbrella and a first rate grill.The check-in process was a bit onerous, not what I'm used to in a VRBO rental, but in the end, it was all worth it."
