Very beautiful and clean! Fun games for kids to play, country life and fire pit. Great place for re!
We were very busy and enjoyed luxury close to French licks splash house adventure and Wilstem wildlife park! Debbi’s was wonderful and accompanied our needs! The smell of wood from which the home is made is so satisfying! So beautiful and peaceful!

Beautiful cabin in a private beautiful setting.
The Wise Old Owl comes with lots of charm and comfy beds. The awesome log cabin has a nice big front porch, absolutely an ideal settling to enjoy your morning coffee. My parents along with three of my adult siblings and three in-laws (9 total) all fit around the kitchen table and had plenty of room to thoroughly enjoy the tastefully decorated cabin. A bunch of us enjoyed a nice long walk on the gravel road. My parents really appreciated using the nice walking sticks, that were left on the sid of the cabin. If ever we return to this area, we would definitely stay here again.

Amazing!!
Have you ever traveled and forgotten those few small things?? Well this place has you covered!! They have anything and everything you may need to have a great stay. The cabin itself is gorgeous! Set back in the woods with small streams that are so peaceful to listen to. I highly recommend this for a family get away. An adult getaway. It would be great for anything. Plus great communication from the owners and house keeper. Added bonus…the house keeper left fresh baked bread and farm eggs. Such a nice touch. A plus in our books!

Polar Express Weekend
We stayed with my grandchildren for a Polar Express weekend, the cabin was perfect, the location was ideal. It was so nice for my grandchildren to play. They enjoyed the hot tub on the screened in porch. The kitchen was wonderful for us to prepare our meals. We had a lovely time.

Perfect family getaway spot!
This was the perfect cabin for our extended family to meet for a weekend. Everything was spotless when we arrived and Debbie, the owner, was super helpful answering all questions before we arrived and with making sure we had everything we needed once we arrived.

Perfect Family Getaway
Just a wonderful experience. My wife and I with two adult daughters and their families with grandchildren! Private bedrooms for the adults and a bunk room for the kids. The children loved counting all the owls! The property and cabin are just beautiful and fully stocked with helpful notes on everything. We were attending a wedding in the area and this was close but still secluded. Outstanding!

Beautiful cabin. My granddaughters loved that they were all able to sleep in the same room (Dorm area).Loved the availability of all the towels and supplies. The little walking trail was nice. Would definitely like to visit here again.

Yearly Family Vacation
Our yearly vacation with 5 grandchildren, two adult children and their spouses. This home was very clean and well stocked. The owner, Debbie, came by to show us around the house. My grandsons loved playing with the Lincoln Logs and the family played with some of the other available games. We even had fresh eggs from the housekeeper. We enjoyed making S’Mores at the fire pit - the wood was provided. We had a great time!

This cabin is wonderful! Great area and so quiet! The hosts are wonderful and even checked on us to make sure we had all we needed and if we had any questions. The hosts thought of EVERYTHING when it comes to having a rental property. It was really great ❤️ We hope to be back soon!!!!!

Cleanest and most well-stocked rental ever!
My group of friends does a cabin weekend together every year somewhere new and we stumbled upon this cabin on VRBO not knowing anything about the area but took a chance! This was truly the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in plenty) and the kitchen/bathrooms were so well stocked and organized. This place had literally *everything* we needed and much more. Debbie and Butch communicated great and give you all the information you’ll ever need for a great stay. Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a rental in the area.

Cabin Getaway Murder Mystery Birthday Celebration
Stay was awesome. Beautiful cabin, very well stocked with plenty of towels, dishes, & cookware. Beds and furniture very comfortable and place was nicely decorated. Owner added extra touches making our stay very nice and relaxing beyond our expectations. Would rent this one again.

Fall Friend Getaway
We had a perfect fall couple friends get away at the Wise Old Owl Cabin! Everything was exactly as we hoped, and the Porters communicated well and thought of every detail! We would love to go back again with family. There was plenty to do from visiting French Lick, spelunking, hiking, and having campfires at the cabin. We loved our time there, and we made great memories! Thank you to The Porters and Rita, the housekeeper who made a visit personally to answer any questions we might have and show us around when we arrived. Anyone considering visiting the area would love this cabin experience in this beautiful part of Indiana!

A Place to Relax and Reflect
Our family books a vacation home every summer and I must say this home is a magnificent place to stay. Off the beaten path this property is a paradise of peace and quiet. From hot tub at the end of the day to waking up with a cup of coffee on the front porch listening to the birds in the morning. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a place to relax. Also Patoka lake is close by for those who like to fish or participate in other water activities! Great place!!!

Everything you need
This host has really taken steps above and beyond typical, specifically with the guest experience in mind. The cabin was well-appointed with everything you need, including the things you didn’t think you needed and forgot to bring with you. The property was lovely - serene, private, scenic. The lodging was clean, comfortable, and charming. Hot tub was clean and well-maintained. They had cornhole and ladder all sets for use. We will definitely be back!

Indianapolis Family
We found the property owners to be available and helpful at check-in. The cabin was clean and very well equipped. It made meal preparation so much easier than other places we've stayed. The multiple grills were helpful too. The fire pit, with it's ample wood, was a hit. Some of us took advantage of the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay and will have good memories of our time there.

Cousins Reunion -- Eight 1st cousins and spouses stayed 2 nights but we had 24 attend the reunion.
Lovely, quiet, well supplied and furnished. We had two observations: the beds required steps to enter and exit and the basement is cold. The WOO is comfortable. Thanks!

Sorry the basement was Cold, we should have shown you the 3 vents you could have shut off down there. King beds are a bit tall, but we do provide nice custom steps if they are needed.

Family Thanksgiving
We wanted a place where we could all go close to home. We celebrated Thanksgiving together at the cabin. This cabin is stocked everything you would ever need. Polar Express Weekend
My family of 20 spent a wonderful 2 days in this cabin. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the Polar Express. The amenities were amazing and the owners were extremely helpful and accomodating. If we ever do the Polar Express again we would definitely stay here.

We stayed for only a short weekend with extended family and enjoyed the property! There is not an appliance or utensil that we couldn't find, the place is more well stocked than my kitchen at home! The linens were ample, even for the hot tub and the washer/dryer combo was wonderful after a rainy day of hiking with teenagers who like to "explore". Even with the remoteness we ventured into French Lick for an adults only evening out and felt safe with the kids staying back at the cabin. The location is remote, the property spotless and the experience one of a kind!

Supremely clean, thoughtful country cabin
We were so impressed with this cabin! We were impressed with the cleanliness, with the thoughtfulness of all the amenities, and with the location. One criticism that we have is the basement bathroom being in a storage room. You have to go through the bedroom downstairs to get to it. For anyone staying in the dorm-style basement on one of the multiple beds, they have to pass through the separate bedroom. Inconvenient for parents to be sure. It's a minor issue compared to how amazing the rest of the property is. However the bathroom adjoins the downstairs bedroom and the shower makes you feel like a giant in a tiny person's house. Aside from that the property was really well maintained and was just as described. We would totally stay there again. We had a family of nine and the house sleeps an additional seven. There was plenty of room for everybody. Thanks so much to the owners and the staff for a wonderful stay at the owl cabin.

Incredible amenities, beautiful clean cabin, great location.
We have a large group of Nurses/friends who take a yearly "girls trip". We have done this for 14 years staying in locations from Michigan to Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky. This cabin has everything. Not only were the owners helpful and kind, the cabin was great. Every amenity you can think of was there. The location was close to many activities which we enjoyed including the lake, Marengo cave, horseback riding in French lick, wineries and restaurants. The area was beautiful everywhere we went and had a very safe feeling. The lower level was perfect for our group with the multiple beds. The beds were comfortable and three showers made it easy for our group. The exterior porches, yard and fire pit were excellent spaces for relaxing and playing games. We were all very pleased with our stay and would certainly return and some plan to individually with families. Thank you for an excellent trip!

Super Clean Cabin Close to Patoka Lake
My family and I had a great stay at the 'Wise Old Owl' cabin. The cabin was so clean and had everything you would ever need to enjoy your visit. The cabin was only about 20 minutes from French Lick and we were pretty bummed that we weren't able to check out the hotels (only allowing resort guests). We rented a pontoon boat at the Patoka Lake Marina and although the weather was pretty cool, we really enjoyed it. Our stay ended with grilling burgers, enjoying the firepit, and our dad playing some old gospel hymns on the guitar that the homeowner, Debbie provided at the house. Overall, it wa as a wonderful time with many new and cherished memories made. Would definitely recommend a visit to this gem.

The owner is super. The place has everything you need. Lots of towels, kitchen supplies, grills and condiments. Beds are very comfortable. This was our second stay there. Close to the Lake and. casinos. Very private and relaxing.

Standard Operating Procedures SOPs
I always like to hit the negative first...the checkout was a bit much...We had 6 of 10 people left at check out, all men, all 10+ years each in the military and a few 20 years in, and found the checkout list very exact and lengthy. I understand cleanliness and order, but for the price a bit less pickup at the end would make the stay a return trip or booking in the future...The cabin was very inviting, cozy, and had everything we were looking for, as well as close to the lake and casino. It was secluded and right for families or friends. A good stay.

Our Family Vacation Made Special
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Wise Old Owl Cabin! Our family of 14 (ages 1-1/2 to 68 yrs) had plenty of room. A beautiful, clean house, spacious front porch, large screened back porch with hot tub, and firepit with plenty of chairs in a peaceful, wooded area – all made the good times even better. Debbie and Butch were so accommodating. If you forgot something, no worries – there were extra supplies in the kitchen. Plenty of towels. Extra items like DVD movies, games, and toys. If we had questions, Debbie was available by text or phone. We felt very comfortable and at home. It was a short drive to Patoka Lake where we boated one day; went to the beach and to the winery on another. I would recommend WOO Cabin wholeheartedly!
