Historic Inn on a 100 Acre Organic Farm with Lake, Private Pool & Gourmet Food

The Inn at White Gate Farm is located in southeastern Connecticut on 100 acres of growing fields, woods and ponds, with extensive lake frontage. In these pandemic times, we offer the 7- bedroom farmhouse and/or cabin on the lake as a glorious safe retreat. We request a 3-night minimum.

White Gate Farm offers a wide array of tasty, nutritious produce, eggs, chickens, prepared foods and pastries. We would be glad to assemble special orders for you to enjoy as is or cook in your kitchen. Or the farm chef would be glad to make you dinner.

You are invited to explore the grounds, hike the trails in the woods, and visit the farm animals. One of the farmers will be happy to give you a tour, explaining our organic growing methods or highlighting whatever you are interested in. Summer visitors can enjoy the swimming pool with its own pool house and the glorious lake + dock.

The core of the house was built in 1765 and features the original fireplace. Each room has a private bath. There are 2 working gas fireplaces.

Wonderful stay!!

We had such an amazing time here and are planning to return for our next family vacation! The house was clean and spacious and the communication was phenomenal. Everyone we interacted with at the farm was kind, caring, and helpful. There is so much to do at the farm and in the surrounding area. We could not recommend this place more! Best vacation ever!

Great Family Getaway

This was such a central location for my East coast family to meet up. Perfect lodging for folks coming from lots of different areas and spatial needs. We had a lovely time going to the farm stand and made a beautiful meal from the produce we picked up. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Great Family Vacation

Fantastic stay at the White Gate Farm!

We are three families with kids and we just returned from our second visit. The house, the pool, the lake, the organic farm stand that we could not stop going to, and super cool hosts make it a very special and absolutely perfect getaway. We hope to be back every summer!

Family Bday Celebration

Perfect venue for a weekend family gathering and bday celebration. Inn offered everything we needed coupled with the amazing Farm Stand and Farm to Table meals. Owners and staff were warm and helpful. Beautiful surrounding and fun for multiple ages. THANK YOU!

Family Gather

Used this property for a family gathering of 14 spanning 3 generations. Layout was great. Plenty of room for meals, visiting, games, relaxing by the pool and downtime. Good location for day excursions and many convenient restaurants options. Farm and farm-based activities were unique and memorable. Host was outstanding. Definitely recommend.

Perfect!!

Our family of 15 couldn’t have been more pleased!The house accommodated us all with room to congregate in the great room and eat together at the large dining table.The kitchen was large and we were able to prepare meals and bake for the holidays!We were very comfortable in the bedrooms and the property was amazing.We were greeted upon arrival and checked in on to make sure we had everything we needed.The children loved seeing the chickens and rolling down the hill!!One of our best stays! Highly recommend.

Great property, great people.

Beautiful, well kept organic farm with plenty of property to explore. When not in the swimming pool , the lake was a big plus for the kids. Boating, paddle board, swimming. The farmhouse is spacious with room for privacy or gathering. We cooked gourmet meals in the well appointed kitchen. Would recommend White Gate Farm for any gathering.

Our second stay, just as wonderful

We are an extended family of 11 adults from surrounding states, and booked a stay over a 3 day weekend. It is the perfect place to spend time together with enough room to spread out and do your own thing as well. Gorgeous house, clean, and so much room. The farm stand right outside your door, fields and trails, animals, scenery-- perfect. We again asked Chef Tami to provide a dinner and it was again such an amazing treat. Thanks to Kevin and the staff of the farm for another memorable stay- we have already rebooked for next year!

A great experience!

We had a wonderful time and the rooms were perfect for us - everyone had their own space and the large living room/dining room was an amazing gathering space for all 12 of us. Everything we needed was there and Kevin is fantastic - he made sure we were comfortable at all times. My only regret is not having the chef prepare us a dinner - we tasted the pizza in the farm store and it was the best we have ever had!!! Pauline and David are lovely and I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful inn.

A wonderful house in a great location

Our family of 12 stayed at White Gate for a long weekend. It was very comfortable, lovely bedrooms for sleeping peacefully and a fabulous kitchen . The pool was great for evening swims and the fireplace was amazing. The farm stand was a huge hit with prepared food, beautiful vegetables, yummy desserts and the animals to visit / hiking trails / lake for swimming, fishing, paddle boarding/ and grounds for games and equipment for games. The manager Kevin, was very helpful and always available. Our family is hoping to go again next year. White Gate farm Inn is special.

Stunning property great for group gatherings

We can not be more impressed with all the facilities at White Gate Farm. It starts with the staff, they’re all absolutely wonderful and helpful every step of the way. The space is perfectly clean, and so cozy on a warm or cold day (we got both). The fireplace is AMAZING. Everyone was just so happy with their experience here. We will definitely be back! P.S. Order some food from the farm! It’s out of this world!

Family get away

The property was perfect for our annual family get together. Most of the time was spent in the pool area, which felt very safe and comfortable. It was fenced in all around, and the pool house included a bathroom, outdoor shower, refrig, and sink. The house itself provided lots of spaces to hang out, a very well supplied kitchen, and a large dining table that sat all 14 of us. Around the farm the kids enjoyed seeing the animals and the tractors. Kevin, the property manager, was very helpful when we arrived, helped us to settle in. We loved everything about the property and would consider going back again next year.

White Gate Wedding

The inn and farm grounds are just beautiful. The staff were so accommodating and went well beyond what is normally expected when renting a property. The inn felt more like a home that a rental. The kitchen was so well appointed as were the rooms. Moving on to the outdoors the lake, pool fire pit, games, grill and picnic tables added up to a wonderful stay. Last but not least the staff were amazing, Tami, Kevin & Pauline - always at the ready. Always answered text messages promptly and did everything to make it the perfect wedding. Many thanks!

Family wedding

Our stay was outstanding! As incredible as a website looks, the farm was beyond our expectation. We had our family stay here on our daughter’s wedding weekend. This house is equipped with everything you need to host a gathering. We had the rehearsal dinner here. The staff was welcoming, kind, and helpful. Everything was clean and if we needed anything, it was immediately taken care of. I have nothing but incredible memories from staying at Whitegate Farm. We can’t wait until we get the opportunity to stay there again! It would be a great place for a family reunion gathering. Kevin, who is the innkeeper was very attentive and helpful. If you were considering this as an option, it will not disappoint.

Can't wait to return next summer

We had a magical time at White Gate Farm celebrating our mother's 80th birthday. There was something for everyone in the group at the farm (fishing, pool time, visiting the animals, stargazing at night, s'mores at the fire pit--the list goes on!). We were lucky enough to have our stay occur at the same time as a meteor shower, and were treated to quite a show on our first night. Despite being remote enough to view the stars, you're still very close to town (a quick 5 minute drive) to get all the supplies you need to take advantage of the gorgeous kitchen for family dinners. Everyone we interacted with was lovely and the atmosphere of the farm was so calm and relaxing. Kevin was so helpful in orienting us to the farmhouse and was available for any questions we had during our stay.

Idyllic Country Estate

My husband and I stayed at this property with our family members over the New Year's holiday (Dec. 27th to Jan. 3rd). We had the most amazing time. The house has such wonderful space (huge family room/dining area with an super-sized propane fireplace, large kitchen, and family members got their pick of the numerous bedrooms and bathrooms). Its central location to so many other CT towns makes the property even more special and of course, the immense acreage with the plentiful fields and ponds/lakes makes you feel you are on the most spectacular country estate. Our large mixed breed dog so enjoyed the countless walks we took and smelling every little thing on the property. We thought that we would love to come visit again during the spring/summer/fall to see how different the farm would look during those seasons. The property is so very special and Pauline and Kevin made us feel very "at home" which is the greatest compliment at a VRBO. Thank you for being such great hosts. We hope to return one day soon.
