"We had a one night dinner, bed and breakfast stay at this pretty old coaching inn in the centre of Midhurst. The room was comfortable and clean, the pool and spa were excellent and the staff were helpful. While the quality of the food in the restaurant was good, unfortunately the service at both dinner and breakfast was poor, and we had to chase our desserts at the evening meal and had a long wait for our cooked breakfasts the following morning. "Stayed here over the bank holiday as a family of 4. The hotel itself is nice and the outside space is green and relaxing. However, we were given a very hot top-floor room during 28°C weather, with no air conditioning and windows that barely opened. The fan provided did not help and none of us could sleep. This room really should not have been given to a family in such hot weather in the first place. At 2am we had to ask for another room, which meant moving tired children in the middle of the night and only getting a few hours of sleep. Staff at breakfast were also not very friendly. Overall, a disappointing stay."

"Great location. Loved that our family room was actually 2 bedrooms, but the double bed was small and too soft, fine for 1 person but awful for 2. Biggest annoyance was about the pool/spa as that was the reason we had booked that hotel. I called before our stay to find out if we needed to book a slot to use the pool, I was told no but that the pool closed at 8pm. At check in we were told we could pick up towels and a keycard at reception for the pool, which I replied we'd be down in about 10 minutes to go swimming. We turned up in our swimming costumes to be told we couldn't use the pool until 3pm due to a toddlers swimming lesson. So we waited 40 minutes, only to then be told we couldn't use the pool until 3:30pm. When we eventually got in it was to find that the sauna and jacuzzi weren't operational. We were on a tight time schedule, so wasting 90 minutes was highly annoying especially as reception had so many opportunities to give us the correct info and let us know the spa facilities weren't working."
