"The building is a bit out of date and needs work in alot of places. First impression when I got to the hotel was not too good, the steps leading to the front entrance are cracked with pieces of cement coming off and in need of a good paint job. The handicap entrance is quite a distance away from the main lobby entrance. The room was a good size but dark, very few lights and was hard to work at the desk. The bathroom was fairly clean but was not cleaned well after a recent ceiling repair over the shower. Still paint stains on the floor and wall. The free breakfast should not even be called a breakfast, more like a snack. Nothing warm other than the toast you prepare. No jam for the toast but they did have peanut butter but one of the packets I had tasted very stale. The juices were very diluted with very little flavor. The hot beverage selection was coffee, never noticed hot water for tea or a decaf selection. The staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I may stay here again but the price would have to drop considerably."

On Saturday, September 27, the day unfolded in alignment with that trust. We left Cambridge around 11 a.m., driving north into corridors of fall color. By the time we arrived at the Sunset Inn, presence was already thick in the air. At the reception, a female welcomed warmly while helping two senior citizens who also reserved six rooms for July 2026. Her calm presence reassured me that the reviews I had read were true. Theo’s joy sealed the moment. He rushed straight to the private beach, the water level perfect for his fearless play. Watching him splash and laugh, I felt the fulfillment of the entire journey. "

"Property is very beautiful with mature forest all around. Cabin was perfect lots of room for my family. Great location close to picturesque Callander and 30 minutes to North Bay. Owner Jake was awesome. I would definitely return and recommend this location."
