"Bensly Cottage is a wonderfully cosy and characterful place to stay that is within easy walking distance for everything in Sherborne including the castles (and only a couple of minutes walk from the abbey). It makes it an ideal place to stay if you want to explore Sherborne on foot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! "

"We stayed in Helena, it was very clean and well equipped. Concern about escape routes in the event of a fire. Some rooms didn’t have a large enough window to get out of. Swimming pool great, as was the hot tub. Lovely setting near Blandford. Would recommend getting shopping delivered as quite remote. "

"The bottom lock on the front door is too stiff. One side of the double bed is broken. There is no mention of the parking permit and car park on the agents website. "

"The en-suite room in Fiona's home was perfect for our short stay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a lovely peaceful sleep. The shower was really powerful, nice big bath towels and shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. The location was great for us to visit Weymouth and Durdle Door. Thanks for having us!"

Very well equipped with lots of DVD choices, board games and everything you need to maintain your stay. The beds and bedding was my highlight one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for years! "We stayed here for the late summer bank holiday so the property was busy. That being said, the staff were friendly, available, and helpful. It almost felt like we were staying with really hospitable family! The dining area was extremely well appointed and clean. There were even options for gluten free diners. There was an amazing assortment of fruit in the fridge. The room we stayed in was clean and had ample space for us. The ensuite was recently renovated and was very nice. There were very nice details in the sleeping area including individual reading lights and shelves next to the top and bottom bunk to store things. The only negative point was that the bed could have used a new mattress. Location wise, we were very near to the beach (approx 5 minute drive). We felt safe. There was parking available in front of the property. Overall the visit was great and we would happily stay here again!"

"It is a true gem of a hotel. Beautiful buildings, both old and new, and a magical garden. Two residents lounges plus a library with pool/snooker table. Reception were efficient and friendly, and the room exceeded our expectations, with wonderful attention to details. I am not a breakfast lover, but there was plenty of xhoice, and frankly the best hotel breakfast I have ever sampled. The situation of the hotel made it easy to walk to the old castle, and Sherborne itself is picturesque and full of history. A wonderful break for us both, and Bruce the dog."
