  • After a day on the trails, river, or mountain, come back to a hot shower, a quiet place to rest, and the sound of spring water flowing through the property.

This rustic cottage bunkhouse is just 10 minutes from downtown Durango and makes a peaceful home base for hikers, rafters, skiers, and anyone who loves exploring the outdoors. The cottage has two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and space for up to four guests. Enjoy ponds, streams, wildlife, and simple amenities including a refrigerator, coffee maker, and large air-fryer oven.

    A Few Things to Know
The cottage does not have a kitchen sink. Our well water is clean and safe for drinking and showering. There is no air conditioning, but the cottage naturally cools down in the evening after the sun goes down.

    The Story of Yun-Shui Garden

“Where clouds drift and water flows.”

In the early morning, you can hear the spring water before you see it. It feeds the ponds, wildlife, and gardens and gives Yun-Shui Garden its peaceful character.

Before becoming Yun-Shui Garden, this land was a trout farm. For more than 40 years, Steve and Margaret Titus cared for the property, raising fish and adding buildings and structures that still give the place its unique character.

Over the years, buildings from different places and times were brought here and given new life, including a former post office, a KOA office, and an old schoolhouse barn. The property grew slowly, one story at a time.

In 2021, we became the caretakers of this special place. We hope to continue restoring the land, creating gardens and wildlife habitat, and preserving the peaceful beauty of the ponds, water, and mountains.

    Explore Nature

Feel free to explore the ponds, creek, and streams around the property. Follow the 🦃 turkey and 🦆 duck signs to find your way.

Trails can be wet or slippery, especially after changing weather, so please take care.

You may see ducks, geese, deer, turkeys, and sometimes bears 🐻. Please enjoy wildlife from a safe distance.

You’re also welcome to join Yun and Mocha in the morning while they feed the ducks and care for the ponds.

Slow down, breathe in the mountain air, and enjoy the water, birds, wildlife, and changing seasons.

    Welcome to Yun-Shui Garden.

VERY gracious of host. Very nice. Little in the rental for how and what to with things. VERY rustic little rental. VERY old. Front door can’t open all the way. In the country - awesome. No check out instructions and needed to ask for access to internet. Our electronics didn’t work without venu internet - due to remoteness. Husband loved the place. I was ok with it. Host was wonderful.

This property has no Air Conditioning. Listing says it has heat but there is no mention of AC. There is no kitchen or dishwasher. It does have a small oven to heat food. The small 1/2 bath has a musty smell and the storm door will only open enough to get in the door. The sheets were clean and beds comfortable. The toilets flushed but sometimes took more than ome attempt and had to wait several minutes for the tank to refill. Overall l was disappointed.
