Just a note on the current Covid 19 situation; We *Sanitize* our vacation rentals according to the CDC guidelines with safe practices like: Masks, Gloves, Bleach, washing on Hot, and a whole lot of obsessive cleaning! Our places are very safe to stay and enjoy without worry.

Also to note. The Saint Francis House is in the heart of Durango. There are restaurants and shops and trails! You can walk to everything. There is also a Tavern across the street, the patrons have lots of fun and it can be LOUD so if you are sensitive to noise you may want to book another place farther out of town. Thank you for your consideration.

Saint Francis House:
Named for the Patron Saint of animals and the environment, we welcome you to the Saint Francis House in the heart of Downtown Durango. This historic house is decorated in a fresh authentic style celebrating the natural world. Truly green, the house is powered by a 2KW Solar electric system. Amazing location with restaurants, grocery, trails, downtown all within easy walking distance. Pamper yourself in the beauty and quality of this house.

A sublime place to stay with a full gourmet kitchen and two bedrooms this house is comfortable. The bedrooms have four poster beds with new high-end mattresses, fine linens and down comforters. Gorgeous new marble, glass and tile bathroom with a ceiling heater for deliciously warm showers. Lots of quality towels, and a hair dryer provided. Pet and kid friendly with a front porch surrounded by a securely fenced yard. Front loading Washer/Dryer with supplies provided including an iron. The laundry room is shared with the unit in the back. The kitchen is complete with quality pans, real knives, blender, antique dishes and real silver ware, lots of handy kitchen tools... worthy of Thanksgiving Dinner or relaxed BBQ meals for the family.

There is a large flat screen TV, BlueRay DVD player, and Wi-Fi provided. Also a small library of books and DVD's. Space enough in either room for a small office set up.

Only two blocks from the The Horse Gulch Trail System which offers world class mountain biking and hiking trails... a great place to hike dogs. Durango Natural Foods Grocery is right across the street as well as several other breakfast, lunch and coffee shops. The short walk to downtown is along 6th street which is full of eclectic shops and restaurants. Close enough to walk to the train station, or up to the college. With a location like this, the car is optional, but if you have one there is an off street parking spot just steps away from the front door.

Winter break trip

We planned a winter break trip to ski and explore Durango, this place was perfect. Having the small market and downtown within walking distance was really nice, and the house was so cozy at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much!

Thoughtfully appointed

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host has thought of everything. Usually there are a couple of things I need to buy, but not this stay. Everything we needed was there. The location is busy, but super convenient and walkable. There is a creek side trail on the street behind the property, access to the Gulch trail system within a 2 minute walk, and 2 good restaurants right next to the home. From the photos it wasn’t clear to me that the property is 2 units - the 2 bedroom is in front the and studio is in back. The studio has the larger yard if that matters to you. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Excellent Property!

Loved our stay! House is very well located and offers easy walking to downtown. Obviously with close proximity comes noise. 8th avenue is a major thruway and more than a few chowderheads blasted by with no muffler, screaming diesels, etc. Next time we’ll try to stay in the studio in the back since it’s off the road. Unit is extremely well provisioned! Holly is responsive and kind. We’ll definitely use one of her properties again.

Pretty noisey with the heavy street traffic. The accomodations were clean and comfortable. The owners were very nice and easy to communicate with.

Our stay was very cozy and we had everything we needed. The property was cute and the house was clean and welcoming. The beds were a bit too soft, but when I mentioned this upon our departure, Holly was very open to feedback. Looking forward to visiting Durango again!

Great little house

Everything was exactly as advertised, and the location was perfect for getting to downtown. We had a small issue while we were there and the host was super responsive and worked with us to solve it quickly.

Don’t hesitate to stay here

The property is well-located for sight-seeing Durango. You can walk to the train and/or downtown restaurants. The house is comfy and cozy. Off-street parking is great. The hosts are great people! We had an unfortunate problem come up while staying and they were unbelievable in working with us to resolve it. I’d stay here again anytime!

Busy week

The house was charming, comfortable, and clean. The location was very convenient to campus and downtown. It’s on a busy road but that wasn’t a problem for us. We would stay there again.

Quaint and close to town

My husband and I stayed here during Thanksgiving 2024 for the week with our dogs. We love Durango and it's always so hard to find places that have fenced in yards. We enjoyed how close to town it is and that there was a convenient parking spot right in front. Even though there are two bedrooms, it's quite small and I can't imagine sharing space with two other adults. It worked well for us during our stay, and Holly the host was so nice and easy to communicate with! I'm sure we will be back again.

Cute spot near downtown

Location makes for easy walks to downtown or local shops and restaurants. Very clean and nicely appointed and comfortable. Tavern across the street can be noisy and road in front is busy, but with doors/windows shut you hardly notice.

Short but sweet stay

My daughter and our two dogs came to Durango to visit my son for his birthday. This property was a perfect location within the grid and down to he street from my sons apartment. Very clean house fully stocked with all the necessities and super cute. The host Holly, was very accessible and accommodating. We would be happy to stay here again on our next trip to Durango.

Great little place

I highly recommend this cute house. It is on a busy street but the noise was not bad at all. The beds are super comfortable and such cute decor. The owners were very responsive with a few questions I had. It is very close to downtown and super easy to get around whether it be via uber or your own car.

We take advantage of that 80% of the time since it beats having to drive and find parking. It's just the perfect VRBO located in Durango! Cozy clean well stocked house

The house was as described. Very clean. Small place but had everything we needed for a week of stay. The driveway can be tricky to turn around especially in winter and with a big car. The owners were nice and shoveled the snow. The washer and the drier are shared with the renters of the back room. Overall, it is a nice place. We would stay there again.

Cosy cottage in ideal location

We arrived in heavy snow, but heating had been turned on, and we immediately felt at home. Parking right outside; wholefood grocery and liquor store opposite, so settled in easily. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the bed firm and comfortable. There is a very efficient gas heater, but an electric fan heater is also provided. The cottage is very close to downtown Durango, and Durango is a great hub for all sorts of outdoor activities and scenic drives. We loved our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple.
