"We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."

"Well, almost as sticky as the last time I stayed.
The floor & tables in the conservatory were all quite sticky, you had to peel the paper napkin from the table. Seriously, what on earth are you doing? I highlighted this last year, yet nothing's changed.
The hair dryer in the room was just as gross as last year too. After using it, one hand only, you had to go and wash your hands thoroughly in the bathroom. This issue was also highlighted last year when I stayed. How hard is it to clean the hairdryer handle from time to time. I'm guessing no-one has bothered to clean them thoroughly for months, if ever.
Lamp shades in the rooms. Hideous wooden things that are damaged & collect dust. Get rid of them & move on.
I only ate in the restaurant once. My burger was bloody in the middle & swiftly returned to the staff. A replacement burger was provided that was damn near cremated. It's a burger. They are genuinely not difficult to cook correctly. I found somewhere else to eat on the second night. The breakfast seemed poorer quality. 'Cumberland' sausages you said, cheap sausages over spiced to the point of being inedible says I!. The food, and the quality of cooking, has definitely deteriorated since last year.
Will I return?
Well, unfortunately, it's perfectly placed for an annual event.
Maybe I'll just bring some cleaning materials & eat elsewhere."
"My wife and I are active octogenarians. This is an excellent hotel for us, for a short break. The staff are genuinely friendly and the decor comfortably slightly old fashioned or traditional. Family group of hotels, well run. Parking adequate but note to reserve if you have blue badge. Food is excellent and breakfasts are brilliant, the menu extensive.
This nice hotel is a favourite with us more mature Devonians. Enjoy!
Ps. Very clean and ensuite bathroom very good."
"On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The food really and staff were very nice. The decor was a little dated and the room smelt a little musty, which wasnt really a problem. I was looking forward to having a bath after a 200 mile drive. Unfortunately there were black spots around the corners of the silicon on the edge of the bath. Then I turned the taps on I went back to the bath to check on it and there were things floating in the bath. I emptied it a tried again. I did this 4 times. Every time there was stuff coming out of the taps. When I brought it to the hotels attention. Is all they said was that there was repairs going on in the street and it could of been that. This happened the following evening too. As regards the matter the hotel staff were not very helpful but they were polite. When your paying for a suite I would have thought that they would of been able to help us a bit more. I ended up washing in the sink.
The breakfast was very nice. I would consider staying there again. Please dont take this review as all bad. Everything else about the hotel was very nice as were the staff. It was just that they wasnt helpful with one issue. If I was staying there longer than 2 nights I would have asked for another room."
"We had a nice stay here.
Very handy for a bus into Exeter or Tiverton. Rooms and public toilets were clean but needing to be updated, very tired.
The staff were nice and helpful but with the amount of visitors they were at times overwhelmed. This caused a long wait at the bar at times to be served.
Breakfast and evening meals were excellent."
