"Worst hotel and rudest customer service in 25 years We were wrongfully charged for meals for an extra guest ! The hotel at Pelling said they couldn’t do anything abt it. So I called and emailed the Elgin main customer service at Kolkata couple of times. They were extremely rude, and hung up on me the first time, just after 3 minutes. "An outstanding property in a tea plantation. The main house is full of furniture from days gone by, including nice library. The staff are very incredible. We went at a time when the night temperatures got cold. Not a problem. We ate by a roaring fire, slept of beds made toasty and warm by electric blankets, and were taken for an incredibly hike through the villages with the tea garden as well as through the garden itself. Spectacular! "
