"Location"

"The staff at this hotel was just excellent. From the two women who ran the breakfast in the morning to the people at reception. They were helpful, polite, prompt, friendly. The location is excellent, too - right by the central bus and train stations with lots of bus, tramway and metro connections available. Our room had a bit of a cleanliness issue which we reported to the staff and they seemed concerned. The surface of everything was very clean but a look under the bed or under a mattress was a bit gross. "

"1-It’s a great hotel. I would rate it as excellent 4 stars. As it’s not 5 starts by all accounts. 2- The location is excellent in the heart of the city and in walking distance to all attractions. 3-It’s very clean and smells really nice everywhere(rooms and communal spaces) 4- The breakfast is so basic and it’s not worth the 22€. 5- With regards to the staff( 2 male receptionist are so unhelpful and one of them is so grumpy and he wouldn’t even smile at the guest upon arrival) there was a noise nuisance (celebration of students graduation) they were beating loud drums at the door of the hotel and many guests complained about it as we couldn’t sleep for 2 days out of the 3 days stayed. The response from the receptionist was so poor and defensive, that they can’t do anything about it. I would say it’s an isolated incident as the rest of the staff are friendly."

Rosslyn Thracia Hotel

"This was our third time staying at the Rosslyn Thracia, and we will probably stay somewhere else the next time. Overall, it's a decent value for the money, but it's time for the owners to put some money into upgrading the hotel. We stayed in one of the suites, and the bathtub leaked a little bit onto the bathroom floor. There was also some leakage or moisture underneath the carpet coming out of the bathroom. And, even though there was a no smoking policy, there were traces of smoke smells in the furniture and linens. The hotel also now charges 15 Euro per person daily for breakfast, and it used to be included in the rate. I will say that the hotel is located in a great location, and the staff was friendly by Bulgarian standards. Our room was very big; was surrounded by windows, and located on the top level with a very nice view of the rooftops of Sofia. It was a decent value, but it's time to make a few upgrades."
