If it's your first time travelling during the COVID-19 outbreak, you'll notice a range of new standards and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your getaway to Dongshan Island a smooth one:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked.

• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your phone, keys and wallet into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• If you want to take food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
