"The staff were excellent. The location was convenient with the tariff reasonable. The room was clean and comfortable with parking at the door. However, the downsides are the advertised free wifi was absolutely useless. Unusable! During the week we stayed we had to use personal data. Further, taking a shower at morning peak time was impossible as the water pressure was virtually zero with only a miserly dribble. Outside peak hours the shower was average but ok. To entice you to dine at the restaurant the room lacks the usual kitchen, kitchen appliances and crockery. We asked for a toaster and extra crockery which were provided. Our room had a small caravan style fridge which was faulty. Although turned to the lowest setting, it froze everything. The place is average but ok, especially if on a budget, but for the downsides, we are unlikely to return."

"The hotel was chosen for its location only a couple of minutes walk from the airport terminal. If you have an early flight it is ideal. The room was large and well equipped. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The Bella the cat robot assisted the waitress with serving which was a nice amusing touch. Can't comment on the breakfast as our flight was so early we left before it was served. "

"The kitchen is very dated and requires a refurbishment (and a couple of light bulbs as multiple were blown. Maybe a mouse trap or poison also, last morning there one mouse scurried across the floor to hole in the wall (kitchen). Room was fine, staff were nice. (Winds were awful through the night and destroyed some of the playground equipment). This is not our stay, previous stays were better. "

"The hotel is in s great location for those late night arrivals or early morning flights. The rooms are nice with comfy beds and double glazed windows to block out the noise. The airport shuttle staff were always chirpy regardless of what time of day it was."

"We did not order anything from the menu so cannot comment on that. However the condition of the rooms, size of the rooms for 3 adults was wonderful. Great kitchen with frypan, pots and a small oven/hotplate unit for cooking. Each unit has a small private outdoor table and chair set. There is a free laundry which was great as we had small children. There is a children's play area, beautiful grounds and the place was so handy to the airport and the northern part of Christchurch. Staff super helpful and we will stay again when we come back to Christchurch. Thank you Northwood Motorlodge for a wonderful stay. Regards, John"
