Deep Cove Creekside, Ocean View Retreat

25 mins from downtown Vancouver, Deep Cove Village is a beautiful touristy neighbourhood at the foot of Mt Seymour (skiing) with trails, beach and kayaking. Our new cottage with loft bedroom is steps from the Baden Powell Trail, Quarry Rock, Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak Shop, bistros, coffee shops, Panorama Park, Deep Cove Theatre & Arts & Cultural Centre. Our suite is a brand new above ground property in a peaceful and quiet creekside setting w/ water and forest views. The loft bedroom has views of Deep Cove's harbour amongst the trees. The second bedroom/den looks onto the deck and creekside. The living, kitchen and dining area has dual views of the garden and view to the marina with boats and kayaking. You have both a deck and a bluestone garden patio to enjoy in the spring/summer. The bathroom has a large shower with rainshower head and heated floors. You have access to two kayaks as well. In addition to TV and WiFi we can supply board games as well :). Architecturally designed, tastefully furnished.

My husband, daughter and infant granddaughter stayed at the Deep Cove Creekside retreat while we were in town for our daughter’s convocation at Simon Fraser University. The suite was bright, clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. We loved that it was a short walk to the ocean, to deep Cove shops, and the park. The hosts were friendly, responsive and accommodating. I loved the spiral staircase to the cozy loft bedroom. Hugged by trees and gardens, the suite was quiet and we enjoyed sightings of squirrels and birds. We will definitely stay here again and we’ll book extra time so we can explore more of the area!

Cozy getaway

Loved this little place. The loft was so cute and the amenities were great. Clean and comfy, lots of books, tv, fireplace. Would highly recommend for mountain getaway, close to mount Seymour and deep cove.

The property was as described with everything you would need in a kitchen, perfect size for two adults and 2 small dogs, though could have accommodated more. Location was close to many parks, many with off leash sections, near entry way to Quarry Rock hike, 5 to 10 min walk to Deep Cove with lovely restaurants, nick nack stores and to the water. W rented a couple of sea kayaks for a couple of hours and explores the cove. Facility got warm during the late afternoon as we were there during a heat wave of 29 C and up. But totally bearable with ceiling fan downstairs and a fan in upstairs bedroom. We opened the windows in the evening and the place cooled down quickly after the sun receded. We Sat out in the woods d ck every evening to enjoy the fresh air and quiet.I would not hesitate recommending the accommodations to friends and family. Communications was via the owners daughter who has as very responsive to inquiriea and friendly with great tips.

Birthday celebrations

We revisited this apartment for our stay in Deep Cove as we found the location and size perfect. This is a beautiful area in Vancouver, close to where my son lives and it suits us perfectly. Kathryn’s communication was excellent. We were able to access the property earlier on out check in day which suited us perfectly. The apartment felt like a home from home.

Beautiful location, needs a little love

The house and its location were stunning! It’s a good place to stay to visit anywhere in the city, and the restaurants and cafes nearby are excellent. We absolutely adored the fireplace for the chilly BC mornings.If I had one critique, it would be that the sleeping arrangements are fairly uncomfortable. The loft bed was soft enough, but the second bedroom had a pullout bed that was hard and uneven (it was a lot like sleeping on a concrete slab at a 45 degree angle). I would love to see that bed replaced with something more cozy, and the stay would’ve been immaculate from start to finish.

Fun little place in a beautiful spot!

We felt very lucky that the hosts allowed us to bring our dog. This is such a beautiful spot and a cool little suite. I particularly loved the loft. Be aware there is a steep spiral staircase if you have mobility challenges. Thank you hosts!

This place is perfect if you want to visit Vancouver and surrounding areas, but feel like you are in a forest oasis!! The space is clean, well decorated, with little touches - great art work, towels, bedding and dishware. Deep Cove - September 2023

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well-stocked and all of the household appliances were nice. Deep Cove is a wonderful place to stay if you want a tranquil place with easy access to Vancouver. We enjoyed walking along the waterfront and in the forest via the hiking trail just up the street from this property.

It's a great location and has some cool features. Check in was tricky as we couldn't get the door to lock, the owners's daughter was able to come and show us but had to phone the owner to ask how to do it. The instruction notes were not left on the table so it wasn't until the next day we managed to get the wifi code from the owner. The listing says it sleeps 4 and there are two double beds. One was a sofa bed with a poor mattress which sagged in the middle so not suitable for two adults (we are 6ft 2 and 5ft 7 and a healthy weight). The bottom right corner had no support so the whole bed tipped up causing my husband to fall when he tried to stand up from the bed. I tried the upstairs bed, which was ok but again the mattress wasn't great. Many of the windows did not have blinds so if you didn't have an eye mask the light woke you up early. The spiral staircase is very narrow, easy to bang your head and I didn't even try to take a bag upstairs.

Wonderful mountain getaway

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was just like the pictures showed. We did a lot of walking from the property to downtown Deep Cove. Its a steep hill for recommend good walking shoes. I was pleasantly surprised to be at an entrance to the Baden Powell trail. That was an incredible hike. A must do! Deep Cove had a little bit of everything and it was a close drive from the airport and other parts of BC. Thank you to Greg and Kathryn for a great stay!
