"A fairly standard business hotel — perfectly serviceable but showing its age a bit. The room and facilities felt older, and cleanliness could have been a little better. Staff were friendly and polite, and the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood with some great dining options close by. Overall fine for a short stay, but could use a bit of freshening up."

"This is an absolute gem! Gorgeous rooms with top notch amenities. We used there complimentary bikes and bikes all around the small town. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The onsen is complimentary with your stay. Great service, such a treat! "

"Excellent facilities, friendly service, quiet atmosphere. It was the perfect accommodation with the right mix of camping sensibility and the comfort of the hotel. My friend and I spent a lot of time in the accommodation and auxiliary facilities, as it was such a wonderful accommodation to just fall asleep and leave."

"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. The building is a 150-year-old restaurant, and the stay included a shared bedroom with eight futon beds, an adjacent family room, a private bathroom, and a shared onsen. "Staff were very helpful when i checked in here. I did get the impression they dont get too many overseas travellers but this did not stop them from being friendly and providing the service they would provide anyone staying there. This place also advertised a public bath available which i regretfully did not use as i was not there long enough. I was only here for one night on a stop but when i took a stroll around the neighbourhood i felt very safe and there were plenty of convenience stores....

"The team at Birupaku were wonderful, they went above and beyond to help me and my family and we had a wonderful stay. The room was lovely with a huge lounge and bathroom and location was fantastic. "

"Very clean hotel, massive room, enough space for to lay out my two big luggages, there are also parking spaces available downstairs. A great hotel for a short stay."

"Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was the typical compact size you expect from a Japanese business hotel, but it felt modern, clean, and comfortable. The public baths were a real highlight — spacious, relaxing, and spotless. Staff were friendly and attentive. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and nightlife just a short walk away. A reliable and well-run hotel that I’d gladly stay at again."
"We stayed at the hotel as we went to visit the Shizunami Surf Stadium. Hotel was good but sort of isolated. There was only a McDonalds and a 7 Eleven close by. Finding a cab was impossible, so we recommend asking people at the reception to book it for you. They were very helpful! Wish we could have visited their spa but unfortunately if you have tattoos you are not allowed. "
