"Typhoon Fung Wong was coming so Alishan was closed and we couldn't check-in to our Alishan hotel. It was late, dark but no wind and fairly calm, nearby hotels and BnB coming down Alishan were all fully booked (because of the park closure), luckily, found this Green Hotel in Chiayi and were able to book 3 rooms. Rooms were spacious, clean with a good layout separating toilet and shower area. Next morning we found a 5 star rated cafe in an alley just around the corner, run by a young barista, a winner of business start-up sponsored by the Chiayi city's Economic Affairs Dept, coffee beans roasted on site, grounded right before brewing, with a relaxing seating area. Highly recommend."

"I enjoyed my stay here at Lakeshore! I stayed for 3 nights. Check-in was efficient, the staff was helpful with my luggage, and the room was clean and tidy. Housekeeping came by daily to fix up the room. I had included breakfast in my stay, which was a large buffet, unlike continental breakfasts in American hotels. They had fresh food and continued to bring out more food once something ran out. They were fast to clean and help. Good location too — walkable to the local bus stops and a lot of dining areas nearby. Would recommend if you’re in the area."

"I like the Shangri-La hotels. Room was large and comfortable, bed was very comfortable. Sheets were good quality. Breakfast room was too cold. Food was ok. Keeping the food stations supplied seemed to vary. Variety was very good. Staff was very helpful. Maybe keeping Breakfast open until 10:30 am would be helpful. "
