The property is beautiful and rooms are tastefully decorated The staff are very professional and friendly The restaurant is amazing offering original dishes with Anglo-Uruguayan flare. This hotel/restaurantis a must if you come to Montevideo We will definetely return "

"Spent three nights. Nice modern hotel. Large room with 2 double beds, large bathroom, kitchen area. Exercise room, tiny pool (2 ft depth), & sauna on top floor. Standard SA breakfast. Wine tasting every evening. Staff was generally okay. Be warned, there are a lot of fees on top of the room cost. Of course, breakfast & wine tasting. But also change of towels & change of linens that were not explained up front. It adds up."

"Staff were friendly and keen to help. Room was bright, clean, bed was comfy, air-conditioning worked. Location was pretty good for Carmelo proper - just off the centre, with easy access for everything from bus station to some of the best food in town. Not so good was the limited front-desk hours which meant having to plan to arrive within a two-hour window. Also the bikes for rent could be in better shape (and not all built for six-foot-tall riders)."

"We were warmly greeted by the hosts when we checked in. The bungalow was beautiful and included a wood burning fireplace which was lit for us when we arrived in the evening. We spent a few nights in watching the Olympics on the big screen TV which offered many channels for international viewers. The bedding was soft and king size bed very comfortable. The bathroom was stunning with a rain shower flowing into the jetted tub. The tub would be difficult for disabled guests however. Robes and...

"With a building that looks more like a work of art nestled in a forest, the resort is a unique experience! You can see that the building is a little aged and in need of some maintenance, but nothing that would lose the shine of the place."
