"Hotel is about 15 minute drive to Chobe National Park and to cruise. The Lodge itself is very basic. The maintenance staffs are very attentive and try very hard to make guests comfortable. The sunset cruise is must. Boat operator and guide Sha is so skillful and sensitive. He explains many insightful knowledges on wildlife. He always knows where wildlife are: yawning hippos, fighting crocodiles and lizards, heard of swimming elephants, rare Cape buffalo, birds, hundreds water lilies and beautiful sunsetting to the last minute. The game drive's were fantastic with the guide brilliantly knowledgeable, patient and excellent at finding animals to view - we saw a pride of lions relaxing after a hunt, giraffes, zebu, antelope, hippos, baboons, naughty monkeys and hundreds and hundreds of elephants. The best part of Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge apart from the staff is the watering hole. We had breakfast and dinner overlooking the watering hole watching families of elephants visit, drink, play and depart as well as many bull elephants exerting their dominance. Absolutely magical. "
