"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in Beijing for a 10 days family vacation. I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. "The location is a 10, but we were put in a room on the west wing that was 10 x 10. The bed touched the desk chair and we had to get it removed to move around the room. The bed was a hard boxspring. We asked for an expedia upgrade as we were too tired the late night before. They said they were not affiliated. They did move us and that room was lovely. The pool was closed for renovations, which was a disappointment and why we chose this hotel. Desk staff were grumpy on arrival. Won't go back. But great location"

"A little bit quirky which adds to the charm. Hallways look a little run down but the room was spotless and new. They offer snacks for free at different times of the day and the breakfast was both Chinese and western and changed every day. I had a bit of a problem finding the place, the taxi driver finally was able to find it, it is tucked away down a lane way. Handy to the metro, out of the hotel area turn right to the end of the lane. The temple metro is to the left and the Beixingiao metro to the right. Lots of shops and eating places nearby."

"Good location, near Metro Jinyuhutong, take the exit via the lift to ground level and turn right. Near Wangfujing street, which have many shopping and food options. Near Forbidden City, Donghuamen, walk about 700m. Staff is helpful: As we have our Taobao parcels delivered to the hotel, and the concierge staff is helpful and polite. Saw them helping other customer to book food delivery and even local tours."

"This hotel is more like a motel, and not a good one. The rooms are very small with low ceilings. Its location on a walking street means taxis can’t enter, so you have to walk to the hotel with your luggage. I meaned to experience the HuTong cultural hotel, very disappointed. I booked a room for 3 nights in March and paid in advance, though pay-at-hotel was also an option. When I stayed in May, I saw on Expedia that the price had dropped too much below what I paid. I asked a staff, who said their prices change all the time. That didn’t seem reasonable to me—if I had chosen to pay at the hotel, I’m not sure if I would have been charged the original rate or the current one. I was unhappy with this experience and will not return. For the same money, I can book a much better hotel in Beijing. Not recommend"
