Golden Brewmaster House – Historic Stay

In 1939, the Maas Family built this historic tudor house adjacent to Adolf Coors Company property. Today, the house (renovated in 2007) with fenced yard is conveniently located in a quiet block in downtown historic Golden, where a 3-minute walk along the Clear Creek nature trail will take you to galleries, coffee shops and boutiques. Easy access to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, world-class ski areas, Casinos in Black Hawk, Denver and Boulder, makes Golden an ideal location for travelers.

The house is comfortably furnished with new and historic decor. Sleeping accommodations include two queen beds, four twin-size beds, as well as a couch in the living room. We also have air mattresses available; just please let us know ahead of time if you`d like to use them so we can set them up for you!

Views include rim rocks of North Table Mountain, Historic Castle Rock of South Table Mountain, Lookout Mountain and overlooks the Coors Brewery. Natural-style landscaping create a restful, mountain-cabin atmosphere with easy access to all the modern and historical attractions of the former Gold Rush-era town center.

Occupancy of the unit is limited to four (4) unrelated persons.

Stairs are required to get into the home!

The home is on a dead end road, but in an industrial area.

Golden was the first capitol of the Colorado Territory, founded in 1859. Spend a few days, a week, or more as you discover Golden, Colorado, `Where the West Lives` Nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Golden has something for everyone- nature walks, museums, shopping, skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, fly fishing, riverboarding, amusement park, farmers market, outdoor concerts, art festivals and more! Tours are available at the Coors Brewery as well as at numerous historic sites dating from pioneer days.

Golden is very walkable and bike friendly!

Failure to follow house rules (ie: no smoking, no pets, check out time, etc.) may result in extra fees or loss of security deposit.

Please be mindful of check-in and especially check-out times. If you are requesting early check-in or late check-out, do make sure to message us to see if this is possible. We will do our best to be accommodating, but communication is key.


Accessibility Note: Please be aware that there are stairs both outside and inside the home. The entrance requires climbing steps, and inside, two bedrooms are located upstairs while two are located downstairs

Great Home in Golden

This was perfect for our family to stay for several days for a family wedding in Golden. Walking distance to everything downtown including parks, restaurants, bars, etc. Clean and comfortable as well as a nice yard and nice kitchen. Would definitely stay again!

Great location to downtown, parks and bike trail. Enjoyed being able to sit outside in the backyard and on front porch. Had everything we needed. Very comfortable for our family of 7.

Stayed there 2 days - in town for a family wedding. Can’t say enough of how easy it was to work with the property owner. Very cost effective vs a hotel stay. Would reserve this property again should the opportunity arise

Adorable house

This adorable house was a great, affordable place to stay and within walking distance to Coors Brewery, Golden Mill and other awesome restaurants. We had a great weekend away, staying cozy while it snowed. Kendra was great with communication and very easy to rent from! Highly recommend!

Altitude Acclimation

Whole party of Wisconsinites checked in for a few days prior to a weekend wedding. Sole purpose was to acclimate to the altitude to prepare us for a mountain wedding dance!! The house was great for eight adults. A few quirks like all VRBOs but nothing that would keep us from an overall 5 rating. Perfect location for everything downtown Golden. Everything is walkable!!

Great House close to everything Golden

I had a fantastic experience at the historic 'Brewmaster House' located in downtown Golden. The house was charming and full of character, with a perfect mix of amenities and historic charm. It was evident that the owners had taken great care to preserve the unique features of the house. The location was ideal, as it was within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The house was also well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend the 'Brewmaster House' for anyone visiting Golden.

Property manager/owner very helpful. Clearly very close to all amenities and especially CSM campus. Quiet day and night. Bathrooms, washer dryer clean and very adequate. Furniture very comfortable and nice looking home. Hosted a graduation party for 4-5 hours and all were very pleased with house...Could use an updating and better access for older folks..

Easy access to creek path and town

Brewmaster house is a great option for those wanting to be able to walk into town! The location looks at the Coors brewery, so it is more of an industrial view and you are neighbors with the float company. We enjoyed it because we were rarely in the house and could walk into town very easily through the park and creek path. Easy communication with host and check-in was a breeze. Pretty average bedding and below average cleanliness. Overall, did the trick for what we needed!

Great location

Overall stay was great. The location of the house is perfect. There was a major demolition going on nearby the was a minor nuisance with sound and parking, but the owners did a great job of communicating with us what was going on. Would recommend staying here for families that need extra space and options to walk into downtown Golden. Have 3 bedrooms and an office gave us all chance to have our own quiet time, but also great gather space in the living room. Be aware this a 2-story location due to the basement where 2 bedrooms, laundry and a bathroom are. Wasn't an issue for us, but coming from an area which very little basements was a small surprise.

Family vacation for ages 3 to 67

We all enjoyed our stay. Convenient location in Golden, but due to record high temperatures, we drove to desired area for food, drinks, shopping. Too far to walk in record high heat. House is very close to river tubing company and river tubing was very nice. Nice living space for all to gather together or play games. Showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Beds were nice except one twin bed was too hard. Front of house has poor curb appeal as shrubs are overgrown, sidewalks not level, and view from front door is Coors facility.

Fantastic location

First time staying at this house, but the location couldn't be beat! It's very quiet, but only 2 blocks from downtown Golden, and the walking trails are literally outside of the backyard. You are just across the creek from the Coors Brewing buildings. The house is bigger than you think - a bedroom, bathroom and office on the main floor, and then the master bedroom, smaller bedroom and larger bathroom on the lower floor. Fairly steep, narrow stairs connect the two. Comfortable couches in the living room, which is always nice. Kitchen wasn't the cleanest, but it looked like a housekeeping issue, rather than the norm. Kitchen was very well stocked, although I never found any measuring cups. Would definitely stay again!

Great spot but watch out for the HUGE deposit hold!

The property was great. It was clean and as charming as promised. The house was also very accommodating. I reached out to Kendra the host through VRBO on a few different occasions before and during our stay. The only responses were automated. She never answered any of my questions. One of the first messages we received was saying to reach out any time with questions during our stay. We tried on several occasions to reach her and she never responded. Also, watch out, she holds a HUGE security deposit (*VRBO won’t publish my review if I state the amount) that doesn’t get returned for weeks after your stay!!!! There is no warning of the extremely high deposit charge in the listing. It’s just a huge surprise once you book. I have never stayed in a VRBO and had such a huge deposit held before. This was a huge inconvenient surprise for me.

The host thought of everything. The condo was clean, well-stocked, and a 3 min drive to Golden. There is a massive construction site across the street but as our host told us, no work was being done during our stay.

Family trip back to college town

Great rental experience! A well appointed, cozy and clean house. Great location to get in and around Golden, you can be in the foothills in minutes! It is basically on the Coors campus, so industrial traffic is around, but not a bother at all. We will be back!
