Promised More Than It Gave
Booked for 22 nights total but nobody there when we arrived at 11:30 pm as scheduled. When we managed rouse Russian owner he knew nothing about our booking and could not give us our room and so we were shoved into a very dank little room which was awful. The next day we were put in a better room but one could hardly describe it as resembling the photos which must have been taken about 30 years ago when it was new. None of the good things that people spoke about in reviews were true, the service was appalling, there was no vehicle or driver to run us into Sunur central or to anywhere at all. When we asked could we have the room cleaned after a few days the response was “you want clean towels”? The owner promised to arrange a discount for putting us in the wrong room the first night but not discount has been given. We used the in house laundry once but the clothes were not properly cleaned. The beach is close enough to walk to but hot and tiresome carrying small kids - no taxis available to bring you back at night. The one good thing was the ability to cook our own meals in the shared kitchen. We only stayed 7 of 22 nights in the end and we were glad we went elsewhere.
