Amazing house perfect location

House was in a perfect location close to town but feels like country. House was clean and fully stocked. It was easy to cook for 6 people and plenty of room for sleeping. River and outdoor space was outstanding.

Awesome!

Too many good things to list about this place. It was very comfortable and so relaxing. Close enough to everything, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Will definitely plan another stay here!!!

As perfect as ever!

This is our third year 'escaping' to this awesome cabin. We are LONG TIME/LIFER residents of Colorado and have traveled extensively in our state. If you want relaxation, privacy and cozy comfort, this is your place. Then you add the soothing sounds of the river all day and night, what could be more perfect? Calling this property a 'cabin' is an understatement. It truly lives up to all the posted photos. With the addition of an outdoor covered eating area and enlarging the riverside patio perfectly enhanced an already amazing property. Wildlife will entertain you throughout your stay making the whole experience everything we have grown to expect and enjoyed each visit. See you next year!

Great escape from the city

This is a fantastic property. The owner is very responsive. The caretakers which live next door are friendly and helpful. The cabin is rustic yet modern. I loved the exposed logs. The cabin's location right on the Gunnison River made for relaxing next to the river, playing in the water and fishing very convenient. I personally caught (and released) four very nice brown trout right next to the cabin. I shared this rental with my wife, 16 y.o. daughter, and my sister's family (incl. her husband, 1 y.o., 5 y.o. and 7 y.o.). We were able to fit everyone with a bed or mattress/cot on the floor. It never felt crowded because there are two great outdoor spaces to escape to and relax. The owner was very attentive to your requests, even going out and buying a portable play pen for the toddler for us when we inquired if they had one. Upon arrival, the hosts left a fruit basket on the counter for us to enjoy. If you like to cook, the kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment, spices, oils, etc. We prepared all our meals in the kitchen and on the grill. There is a great fire pit right next to the river and we had a fire and ate s'mores one night. It was simply a very relaxing, enjoyable weekend and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Delta is only a few miles away so access to grocery stores and restaurants is very convenient. Everything we needed was either in the house or readily available in town. We discovered a drive-in theater in Delta so we took advantage of that as well. It has been 30 years since the last time I went to a drive-in movie. My only word of caution would be to make sure you bring bug spray during the summer/fall to fend off the mosquitoes. It's a small price to pay for the stunning setting right next to the river.

Not Great…

My family stayed here for almost a full month, so I have a lot of thoughts but will try to be brief. Overall, there are definitely good things about this property but I would absolutely not stay here again. The cabin itself has a lot of potential but has a few quirks that made it overall unenjoyable. First, if the weather is hot outside then it will be very hot upstairs. There is A/C but vents are only downstairs! Upstairs rooms were 10-15 degrees hotter which made it hard for people to sleep upstairs every night. Second—and this is maybe the oddest thing I’ve seen in a rental home—the master bedroom has almost zero privacy. Instead of installing a normal door, there is a pantry-style bi-fold door with open slats. Not only that but it doesn’t even fit the doorway, such that it only closes halfway. Then the windows have only lacy curtains that can still be seen through. Essentially there’s no way to make it such that others can’t see straight into the master bedroom. A couple more minor things to point out: The upstairs bathroom only has a spray handle and not a real shower. People staying upstairs have to share the downstairs master bath to take showers. There’s no dishwasher so you’ll need to wash dishes by hand. The host was not very friendly or hospitable, which further detracted from our vacation experience. The good thing about this property, however, is the location and setting right on the Gunnison River. When you sit in the backyard it is peaceful and secluded. The fire pit is great and we enjoyed it many nights. Our kids had fun playing in the river and we also enjoyed fishing right there on the property.

This was a very nice place to stay. A lot of room for the kids to play in the yard and the river. Also we had previously arranged to park two of our RVs on the property. It is quiet and off the beaten path but still easy to get to. Ron is a great host.

Excellent stay with all the benefits of camping… fire pit, dark night sky, nature sounds, outdoor dining activities and games… but without the hassle and downsides. The cabin was spacious, clean, with comfortable beds, and A/C to keep cool. We enjoyed a tethered inner tube float on the river out back, fishing, and watching all the hummingbirds buzzing around. There are multiple areas for outdoor seating including a large covered patio to keep you dry. The location was convenient to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and the Grand Mesa. We had yummy Third Bowl ice cream at a cute shop in Crawford called the Lucky Horseshoe and the kids enjoyed the swarm of sunflower seed seeking chipmunks at the Lands End observatory. Would definitely recommend this property!

This was by far the best rental we have had in years, I would recommend this facility to anyone that wants to be close to all local actives or just hang out and relax by the river. Gunnison River Black Canyon Fly Fishing Trip

We stayed here before and after our Gunnison River Fly Fishing Float Trip. The locate was minutes away from our early morning meet point. And a short ride back after the trip. Place was great and as described. The woodpeckers were a nice touch

Wonderful spot right on the Gunnison River

Our visit was with other family who are local to the Delta area. Access to the property is a bit tricky but the host was extremely helpful both before and during our stay. Directions to the property on VRBO website are excellent.This delightful lodge in a pretty setting exceeded our expectations by a lot. It was well stocked with most any items one would reasonably expect. We would definitely return.

Nice clean place by the river

We enjoyed this property. It is very private and right next to the river. My wife and I stayed there with three of our grown kids. It is a log house with a nice, vaulted ceiling inside. A separate dining room served well as a remote work room for some of us, and upstairs has a nice reading/sitting room area. We will visit here again. Thanks!
