Arrived for a late check in. Only one member of staff on reception despite being very busy with guests. Staff not as friendly as usual. Otherwise a good value stay and a reliable hotel for the City centre.

I arrived on Wednesday night, during almost hurricane biting cold winds and lashing down with rain for the start of Manchester Christmas Market.
I received a lovely warm welcome, with a voucher for a warm-up drink in the bar, was allocated an excellent clean and tidy family room with pleasant views.
Unfortunately the bitter winter wind was getting in through the gap in the window, but air conditioning on 24C and heavy curtains resolved that.
I had an exquisite dinner in the basement restaurant with tomato soup, steak and ale pie with mash & sautéed mushrooms, apple tart and ice cream.
The staff were wonderful at breakfast, and so I stayed for two nights at a perfectly reasonable rate.
If you stay there, make sure that you get a family room, they are excellent.
"Central location but not sure it really merits 4*"
Room was a good size, quiet and the beds are comfy enough. Bathroom was worn and dated. Restaurant and bar are just one room downstairs that has little of interest. Room service was edible but not top range food. No real facilities on site.
Staff everywhere were friendly and helpful, though.
The hotel is lovely and it's in a great spot. The only downside to my stay was I was placed in a disabled room so the surfaces were lower than usual, not a problem in the bedroom but the sink etc in the bathroom was a little low. There was a random hair in the sink too when I was unpacking my toiletries. You can hear everything in the corridors too.
The apartment rental was wonderful and had plenty of space for me and my guests. It's a little difficult to find the address, but it's right next to the Per Tutti Café. The local grocery stores, shopping malls, and transportation spots were nearby and there are plenty of options to eat within walking distance. It was very convenient and a great place to stay. Our main purpose to come here was to watch the football matches so this was a great location in between both of Manchester's football clubs (Old Trafford and Ethiad Stadium).
