When leaving the ferry on the island be sure to get off on the right side. If you leave on the left you will have to wait for all the cars to debark before you can cross the road, by which time the bus will be gone until an hour later. Hotel is situated on a street with no cars, which is lined with many shops and restaurants. Our room had a sloped wall next to the dormer window. Getting into the bed sometimes caused pain to my sore back; I perhaps should have just crawled up from the foot of the bed. The TV was quite small but who needs TV in such a lovely location? There was a nice buffet brunch, and you could eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant or outdoors at the sidewalk café. You can rent a bike, where you will be given a map of the many bike paths all over the island. The beach is up a fairly steep road, as you are climbing over the dike which keeps the land from flooding. The sand, which goes as far as you can see in both directions, feels wonderful under bare feet. In the summer (we were there in both July and October), there are changing cabanas all along the beach. At the annual Wind Festival in October we saw many large kites in very creative shapes. If you want to go further afield, busses run frequently to the 35 metre tall Eierland Lighthouse, where you can climb 153 steps for a magnificent view.
Stayed a couple of nights in very spacious comfortable rooms and extended our stay in smaller basic rooms. Very friendly staff who kindly arranged for the return of a hired bike after our early morning departure. Central location beside shops and restaurants.
We had a great experience with this hotel. There is lots of reviews regarding the noise level but, we had no issue what so ever even though it was the height of the holiday season and the island was apparently booked out. I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were cute, clean and a decent size. Location is perfect if you want to be close to everything.
