It doesn’t look like much because it’s an older, grander, private club building that has been renovated into a hotel, on the edge of a subdivision.
The charm of finding a drawing room with fireplace at the end of the hall was unique. The warm wood of the hallways gives way to a lovely renovated hotel room.
Frankly, when all other hotels are booking out at $500/night, you can still get a very clean and splendid room for $200 here, consider yourself very lucky. To some of you, the first observation of the neighbourhood may look a bit sketch, but we felt, and were, perfectly safe.
It’s just down the street from the river.
I hope when you’re there the parking lot, a 3 minute walk away, still has the 8 food trucks for you to get a variety of fabulous street food! (We had the stone oven baked artesian pizza).
This is a hidden gem, and I will not hesitate to book again for before a flight (YHF is 20 min drive away), or when looking to visit Halifax proper.
