Bed and Breakfast in Darjeeling

"Very clean, comfortable and well-located hotel. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the taxi pick-up for the next leg of our break and the staff were incredibly supportive and kind and made sure that we were comfortable even though we had checked out. "

"An outstanding property in a tea plantation. The main house is full of furniture from days gone by, including nice library. The staff are very incredible. We went at a time when the night temperatures got cold. Not a problem. We ate by a roaring fire, slept of beds made toasty and warm by electric blankets, and were taken for an incredibly hike through the villages with the tea garden as well as through the garden itself. Spectacular! "

"The hotel’s approach is soo steep, we had to think twice before heading out each time. They should offer complimentary shuttle service at least. Not recommended for elderly travelers. The food was not that great for the price they are charging. Overall the trip will be more exhausting if one decides to put up at this property. There is no parking available at the property so if you call for a taxi, you have to be ready at the gate at the precise time so that you can board the car and leave as it is a one way narrow street. If one wants to visit the mall road frequently, suggest you stay at a different property. The kitchen closes at 9:30PM which is not practical at all (I dont know about the other hotels as this was my trip to Darjeeling). The room phone was not working and even after complaining on all 3 days, it want changed/repaired and I had to climb 3 floors down to the reception to talk to house keeping. Lastly, there is no lift in this hotel and if you are allocated a room on the 3rd floor, you literally have to climb up 5 floors (from the road it is 2 floors to the reception which is termed as ground floor). "

"Beautiful view of the Kanchenjunga and staff is superb. The property has no vents even in bathroom!! Moldy snd must bathroom but super clean walls and floor. "

"Quintessential perfectly preserved beautiful British Raj hill station hotel Darjeeling full of historical artefacts at the end of the mall with some views. The staff were very attentive and helpful and served delicious meals in the dining room and I really enjoyed my stay of stepping back in time at this sanctuary of history in th hills away from the hustle and bustle of the town. 💖😎Dawn from Australia "

"Our stay at Sumitel was great. The staff was extremely friendly and took care of all of our requests in a timely manner, even when we ordered our dinner late, they accommodated us. We could see Kanchunjangha from our room, which was an added bonus. The front desk attendants and the night manager was also very friendly, including the kitchen staff Pranesh, Lakpa and Sovana. The only room for improvement I would suggest is Wifi, which was extremely slow. Otherwise a great stay. "
