We had a great time. The house was very comfortable and had all the amenities you would need. There is a lot to do in the area. We relaxed, pontooned, fished, went into Gatlinburg area, etc. Hanging around the dock was the highlight. The kayaks are right there to use. Caught some largemouth and bluegills.
The hosts were very friendly and attentive.

This was our second time here and we truly love this location. My kids begged me to rent it again. We were sad not to see the corn hole but still had a great time! I am sure we will be back!!
They really have everything you need for a nice time away.

My family stayed at The Barn for a long weekend getaway. Everyone had an amazing time. The house is perfect with all the amenities you would need. The property owners were so friendly and fast to respond to any questions we had. The cove is a short walk from the house and is so secluded and beautiful. The owners also provide kayaks and other fun water floats! I would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing getaway.

The barn has beautiful views of the mountains in the distance and the lake is just a short walk away. Since we visited in Nov the lake was drained but it’s not hard to image the great fun families of all ages could have here. This trip was
just my husband and I so we didn’t take advantage of the many bedrooms but we did enjoy the peace and quite and our helpful hosts.

Dawn/Scott were outstanding hosts, always very helpful, courteous and very kind. Barn/house is very accommodating, has everything you need for the week. Lake was amazing, dogs loved jumping off the dock. We did get to use the boat for couple days, although it was not running right, we still got to run around take it to a cove for the dogs to play in the water. All in all it was a great trip to the Smokey Mountains, we’d definitely go back. Thank you

First I want to say that the hosts are probably the nicest and most considerate that I’ve rented from in all my years of using these sites. They are quick to answer any questions, the welcome email was very informative and helped us with some great hiking spots we wouldn’t have otherwise found, the place is well stocked with just about anything you could need, etc. The place itself is amazing. Quiet but not boring even as we were rained in most of our stay. It was so nice to come back to the isolated little barn house after a day dealing with the crowds in Gatlinburg that’s for sure. While the lake wasn’t completely full while we were there, we were still able to catch some fish and the dogs loved being able to splash around and explore in the shallower water. I could definitely see it being an even more amazing experience with the full lake so it’s worth coming back for that. Overall this place is a 10/10!

My family of 8 adults visited Smoke Rise Barn during Sept. 2023. It is an excellent property. It was clean and well stocked. Nice amenities. We very much liked the location. It is quiet, situated on the lake in a scenic rural area yet convenient to Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Dandridge, & Bush's Baked Bean Museum & Cafe. We knew the lake would be down at this time of year but we were still able to fish and enjoy pontoon rides on the lake. I can see where a trip during the summer when the water is up and you can swim and boat would be great. There's water toys, a nice dock and deck to facilitate this. We particularly enjoyed sitting around the fire pit during the evening. The hosts were attentive and responsive to any questions we had. I recommend this property. However, if you have an issue with stairs you may need to consider all the bedrooms are upstairs. We knew this going in so was not a surprise. (One member has problems with stairs but managed nicely and enjoyed her stay.) There is also ample parking for a large group. We had 4 vehicles and a Jon boat & trailer. Parking was not tight. One of my family members is already planning to book a trip during the summer. Thank you, Dawn & Michael for a great stay. Note: You may not think it worthwhile to visit, but the Bush's Baked Beans Museum & Cafe is a must see. Their employees are friendly/welcoming. It's located in a beautiful area, the museum is interesting, plus the cafe food is reasonable and good.

We stayed at the barn for a family get together. We were seven adults and one child. The place worked great for us and the dock access to the lake added to the experience. It was a wonderful family time!

Our family had another cabin booked for May 23- 27th. The week before our trip the rental agency called us at 10pm to inform us that the cabin owners decided to take the property off the rental program and put the home up for sale so our reservation had to be canceled. We immediately began to freak out and started searching for another rental that would accommodate 8 people and 2 dogs. The barn availability calendar looked booked everyday for the next couple months but miraculously our dates were available. I messaged Mike & Dawn, told them of our situation and told them we would love to rent their property but it would be a few days before I received my refund from the canceled reservations. In good faith they told me they would block our dates off and trust that when our money cleared we would rent the barn. They told us to focus on our upcoming trip and not stress. They were our ANGELS!!! When we arrived at the barn we were blown away with all the extra little details like stuff to make s’mores and the bath soap/shampoo/conditioner caddies in the showers. This place is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed swimming, kayaking and fishing and will return soon!

Great place to stay in the summer ! Less than an hour to all the local attractions . Groceries and Restaurants near by . We spent most of the time just swimming in the cove. Great fishing in the cove or out on the main lake !
It seemed like I called the owners at least once a day. Dawn and Scott took care of all of our needs within minutes.
I would highly recommend The Rise to anyone looking for summer fun !

Loved the house , the lake and the property owners. The house is lovely and it has all the extra amenities you want. Especially appreciated that the dock was in a small very quiet alcove and had a paddle board, noodles, a kayak and a double inflatable kayak that were available for use.
Owners also were very responsive. The oven wasn't working and they arrived with a repairman within hours and had all sorted out quickly.
Definitely would go there again.
