The Birchtree Hotel

3.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (151)
"We chose this hotel as it was relatively close to Southerness Golf Club where our son was playing a competition. The family room we stayed in was recently updated and very clean. All interactions with the staff were excellent and they went out of their way to help us when we came back from the golf on Saturday soaked! The Birchtree is
dog
friendly and our little pooch was treated like a king! Thanks to all the guys at the hotel and we will be back next time there is a golf tournament at...

The Art Bank

3.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (12)
"Loved our huge Van Gogh decorated bedroom and great en-suite. Lovely and light with huge window. Breakfast, great range of choices. You couldn't leave hungry. Downside was that we were unable to use the TV because of the Sky set-up. Only catered for two users at any one time. However, we weren't there to watch TV. Hosts, Mandy and Dan were very accommodating and welcoming, as were their three
dogs
. Would definitely recommend."

St Marys Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

8.0 out of 10, Very good, (1)
"The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. A minor niggle, but it was a bit cluttered with cushions and throws in the sitting room - the throws just slid off the leather sofas and the cushions were too big and too many, so were surplus to requirements. The location suited us very well, with a host of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful break and can recommend!"

Portling View - an apartment that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (11)
"We really enjoyed our stay in Portling View. The accommodation worked really well for us (three adults and a
dog
). It is a comfortable flat with a very well equipped kitchen. The garden area is a short distance from the door, and it worked really well for morning and evening
dog
runs. The fine weather meant we enjoyed numerous local walks, and if you are looking for something a little different then the Segway tours at nearby Gorsebank Active can't be bettered - even for us as seniors!"

Albany Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 7 guests in 4 bedrooms

10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"Cosy, well equipped cottage with a lovely view. Our elderly parents loved that they didn't have to go anywhere to enjoy the beach and they could get out for easy walks. With amenities just a few minutes drive away and local to wildlife viewing options this worked well for us. None of us were keen to leave."

3 bedroom accommodation in Rockcliffe, near Dalbeattie

10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"The cottage was as expected . Very well equipped with new appliances etc . Huge utility room made up for tiny kitchen . Beds had good mattresses . Good blackout curtains which is rare .Parking was as described and was a pain but car park is free and lots of room . We were too hot as the downstairs heating couldn't be turned off and it was unexpected hot weather . Had to leave the upstairs windows open . Loved the character of the cottage and the fact that I could walk to a bench by the sea...
