This spacious detached country residence is situated in the owners’ grounds and offers a peaceful holiday location from which to explore this unspoilt area of South West Scotland. It offers magnificent scenery, some of the finest beaches and golf courses in Scotland, riding, fishing and water sports. An excellent area for walkers and cyclists with the 7 Stanes Dalbeattie close by. The Galloway Forest Park offers fantastic scenery and wildlife and the Galloway Hills are within easy reach. There are many sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages to explore. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Beautiful Property

The property is spacious, beautifully decorated and in a peaceful, rural setting. Beds were super comfy and the owners were on hand, not that we needed them, the place has everything you need and more. Its situated a short drive from plenty of pubs restaurants and lovely forest walks. The listing said there was a pub within a mile, I must have missed it but its only a couple of miles from Dalbeattie. Would definitely stay again.

If you book a holiday here, you won't be disappointed.

If you book a holiday here, you won't be disappointed. We had a wonderful, much needed break and felt like we had really struck lucky. The cottage is well equipped, extremely comfortable and really spotless, with no hidden dirt or odd smells that you sometimes encounter in rental houses. The area is beautifully quiet and we even saw a deer on the woodland path that makes up part of the grounds. We loved seeing the ponies and horses in their fields and the cats were really friendly characters. They didn't try to come in, though, they just liked to greet us on our return each day. The manager/owner was helpful when we had a problem and resolved it as quickly as they could, they also made us feel we could contact them at any time but completely gave us our own space, so we felt like it really was our cottage for the week. We found the cottage heating system simple to use and very effective and there were all the white goods you might need in a separate utility room. The place is airy and really spacious. As for Dumfries and Galloway, we loved it! On many of the beaches, paths and roads, we were the only ones there. It's a magical place to visit and we would all go back in a heartbeat. A very modern, spacious , clean & comfortable apartment to stay in. Close to town & coast, with lots of places to visit within a short drive. Great for children as off road with areas to play, our girls loved the horses & sheep. Very happy to recommend for a break in Scotland.

A fabulous holiday house in a beautiful, quiet setting. Lovely owners. The cottage is extremely well appointed and we would definitely recommend and rebook ourselves. A couple of very, very minor things to make it perfect- it would be good to have a long handled brush to sweep up after messy children and a baking tray for the oven would be useful.
