We really loved the Dragon Inn. Our room was beautiful, small but very clean and pretty. The food on the Saturday evening was very nice, and the two young girls serving were so kind, friendly and helpful. We asked about the timing for breakfast on Sunday morning and told 8-10. We arrived at 9.15 and everything was great until the waitress arrived (Kara?). My husband asked for a full English and as some breakfasts are really large in some places (eg two bacon, two sausages etc) I said mine could be as small as possible and stated just one bacon will be great. The waitress was really rude, very short and sighed 'It comes in one size ' and shrugged her shoulders rudely at me. I was really shocked at her attitude, and so was my husband, but we said nothing. At 9.50 another guest arrived for breakfast and again she was really rude to him saying 'breakfast has ended. It ends at 9.45 on a Sunday' very abruptly. People pay quite a lot of their money to stay at a pub/hotel and do not expect to be spoken to in this manner. An explanation can be given calmly and politely rather than in this rude way. It has really put us off staying here again. When the guest said he had been told he could arrive anytime before 10, he walked away to ask his wife what she wanted,the waitress flung her hands in the air, sighed and shrugged. She continued to complain loudly to her colleague the chef. We were totally stunned by this behaviour, and although we are easy going, it was way too rude.

What a great place to stay!
It was looking good on the pictures when we looked for a hotel for our trip, but in real life it exceed our every expectations. It's super clean, cosy and friendly place. We were told to book a table for dinner in advance, because it get busy at the evening and now we know why. Food is great, staff is friendly and helpfull. It was one of the best place we stayed in our travels and we travel a lot.

Great location, accommodation, food and service. Friendly helpful staff. Fairly priced but book early. Hotel car park through a very tight tunnel but public car park nearby if you have a large car. It was Saturday before Christmas and there appeared to be an after hours staff/local party with loud music until it dispersed around 2pm. We weren’t too bothered as we were visiting on a Xmas do ourselves and watched TV until it calmed down. It would have been polite to warn residents. I assume this was not a regular Saturday event. We won’t stay at Xmas again.

First time at this property, a nice traditional pub atmosphere, the evening menu was quite varied, however my chicken goujon starter was dry and overcooked, the main was a chicken curry from the specials menu which looked lovely, but lacked flavour which was a shame, I would've mentioned to the young waitress however I was in a rush and needed to be somewhere. The room was good for an overnight stay.

Fantastic stay - we can’t wait to come back again!
We stayed for three nights in October and had a wonderful experience. The location in the centre of Crickhowell was very convenient. There is a decent size parking area at the back of the hotel, the entrance to it is quite narrow and wider vehicles might struggle. Our room had been newly decorated and was very clean and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful; is a family-run hotel and had a wonderful atmosphere. The breakfast was superb and we ate dinner in the bar/restaurant on a couple of evenings which was also fantastic, plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. We hope to come back again soon.

OK, so as some reviews have commented, access to the car park is narrow but the Dragon is right in the centre of a lovely little town. Headroom in the Standard rooms on the top floor is a little low but this is a historic building, and everything was clean and looked recently refurbished and there's a lovely view of the main street and the hills beyond from the window. The staff were pleasant and efficient and breakfast (Welsh) was great.

This was a very characterful pub to stay in. While tge bed was very comfortable, we were having to dodge diagonal beams to get to the bathroom. The bathroom was recently remodelled, but had no wall fixtures for the shower over the bath.

Nice enough.
This stay was for work so I didn't stay long or get to know the staff, I’m sure they are friendly. Decor all looks new. Some sort of fan right outside my window went on well into the night, very noisy. Room was compact. Two staying for a few nights would get tiresome. Bath was very small, I couldn’t even have my legs straight. Breakfast was very nice, but took 20 mins for eggs benedict.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 contractors. They both said the rooms were very cold and situated by the stairs. The were kept awake by the loud noises going up and down the stairs each night. Very loud talking and no consideration for the guests staying, every night on the stairs. ‘ Even though it states parking, if you have a bike or mini then you’ll be ok to park, anything else then you won’t fit in!

The food was very good and most of the staff were very friendly. However the room we were in was very warm and only had skylights in which we were afraid to leave open in case of rain .We were then moved to an excellent room so everything was great. Will definitely stay again

Relaxing stay in Crickhowell
After experiencing the tight entrance to the car park everything else was excellent. A lovely large beer garden, good beer and wine and food was tasty. Breakfast was excellent as was all of the staff.
