About this property
Grand Lodge Crested Butte | Pet-Friendly 1BR, Sleeps 4, Walk to Lifts
Summary:
A true one-bedroom in the Grand Lodge — a separate bedroom plus a living room, a short walk to the Crested Butte lifts. Sleeps 4.
✔ Separate bedroom with a king bed plus a living-room sofa bed
♡ "very convenient and clean — we loved having the dog" — Matt, Aug '25
» 5 min walk to the lifts » 7 min to Elk Avenue » 45 min to GUC airport
The Space:
A true one-bedroom condo on the 2nd floor of the Grand Lodge's West building (elevator access) — a separate bedroom with a door plus a living room, set up for a small family or two couples.
➔ Bedroom: A separate bedroom with a king bed and a door that closes — a quiet room apart from the living space.
➔ Living Room: A sofa bed folds out at night, so four sleep comfortably with the bedroom kept separate.
➔ Kitchenette: Stove, mini fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and cookware — cook a simple meal in.
➔ Bathroom: One full bathroom with a tub.
➔ Pets: Dogs are genuinely welcome, up to 2 pets max ($50 fee) — easy in and out for walks, with trails and town a short stroll away.
➔ Building Amenities: Indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tub, gym, elevator, and a fireplace lobby.
3 Pros:
✔ A true 1-bedroom that sleeps 4 — rare in the Grand Lodge, where most units are studios
✔ Indoor and outdoor heated pools plus a hot tub for after a day out
✔ Free town shuttle steps away; shops & dining right at the Red Lady Express base
2 Cons:
✗ Built in 1999, a 3-star building with dated finishes; with a window open you may notice smoke from a neighbor
✗ No A/C and no in-unit washer/dryer (coin laundry in the building)
Guest Access:
You have the entire condo to yourself, plus full access to the Grand Lodge's shared amenities: the indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tub, gym, and fireplace lobby. There's an elevator to the 2nd floor. Check in yourself anytime with the keypad code — there's no front desk at the Grand Lodge, but we respond quickly by message. Your unit comes with free parking and easy in-and-out for walks with your dog. Shared amenities are operated by the building's HOA and can occasionally close for maintenance.
The Neighborhood:
The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, a short walk from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifts, with shops and dining right at the Red Lady Express base and the free town shuttle stopping steps away (it runs to town about every 15 minutes). Summer trails leave from the base, and a convenience store and coffee are close by. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and preserved Old West architecture — are about a seven-minute drive. The area is a year-round outdoor base: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and wildflower season in summer. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive.
Getting Around:
You don't need a car here — the lifts, shops, dining, and a convenience store are all within a short walk, and the free town shuttle stops steps from the door (about every 15 minutes to historic downtown Crested Butte, roughly 7 minutes away). If you do drive, your unit comes with free parking. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive; Denver is roughly 4 hours.

We were in Crested Butte for a mini ski vacation, and this property was perfect for my husband and I and our small dog. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and it was nice to have a separate sitting area with its own television so that we didn’t disturb each other early in the morning. Highly recommend!
This was the perfect spot for our week visit with family in GunnisonToday and I I love you all and so happy happy Mother Nature and and your your mom happy happy Mother’s and dad dad dad mom dad mom and mom and and your dad I I am l
We had a great stay and would definitely repeat it. The only issue was the accuracy of the online listing. The pictures are not of the unit and it is not a one bedroom (it's a studio).
The door locking situation was less than ideal. The refrigerator was less than ideal and did not accommodate our needs. Erin was pleasant, responsive and an asset to your organization. None of the pictures in your listing were of the room we stayed in. That just seems wrong.
