Our stay at Paradise Chalet was wonderful! The views from the back of the property were beautiful. The location of the property was perfect, only a few minutes from the ski resort and under 10 minutes to town. We would definitely stay here anytime visiting Crested Butte again!
We stayed at the property the entire month. The best part is the incredible view from the back deck! The house is great, locations is stellar, and the property managers were very responsive to anything we needed. We will definitely be back.
The house was clean and roomy. I loved the large kitchen area and views from the back porch. Make sure you have an all wheel drive vehicle in the winter as the driveway is steep and gets snow and ice packed. I would definitely recommend this home.
The property is in a beautiful part of Mt. Crested Butte with unobstructed views of the mountains from the back deck. The house was comfortable and had many of the amenities one would want for a cost stay in the mountains. The downstairs queen bed was comfier than the queen bed on the main floor - it was pretty firm. All-in-all a great stay. The host and management company were also very communicative and friendly.
This home is a gem. The view out the back of the home is spectacular. Whether you are on the couch or on the balcony, the view is the same. Deer every day on the right and left side of the valley. I would say this is one of the top 2 views in the area because there are no obstructions between you the valley.
The home has modern appliances. The decor is perfect with so many Geodes to look at.
I am slightly biased with the neighborhood as I used to own a house on this street. This is the best neighborhood. Lots of great people and nice dogs. I would love to return to this house one day. It’s perfect.
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The views out back are beautiful both day and especially at night (lots and lots of stars). The kitchen is huge and has obviously been remodeled. Kitchen is also well stocked for cooking. The beds are firm which we appreciated. When we arrived, the upper level was hot due to the strong afternoon sun. But we opened all the windows and the fresh breeze cooled the place down nicely. (Thank you for putting screens on the windows!!) It took us a while to figure out the power shades and to find the switches that control the kitchen lights (spoiler: they are around the corner near the bookshelves), but that was no big deal. The location was perfect, very quiet, and easy to drive to the trails or drive/bus down into town. We would definitely stay here again!
The communication with Alpine Property management was excellent during the booking (with several changes in dates) and with any other questions that we had. They were very patient with all of my questions during the booking. The views from the house were beautiful, especially at sunrise. We loved staying in a neighborhood and met several of the neighbors on dog walks-all of whom were helpful and friendly. The kitchen had almost everything you could want (we were missing grill tools, which Alpine Mgmt delivered to us), but there were plenty of kitchen towels and paper towels. There was plenty of storage for food and kitchen items that we brought with us. There were some spices, salt and pepper, plenty of sugar that visitors before us had left behind. The room with twin beds was smaller than the other two bedrooms and the beds were probably more suitable for kids. There were plenty of bath towels and other paper goods in the bedrooms. Great hiking!I did find the emails from Vrbo confusing, especially when they sent an email stating that I was behind in payments and would lose the property if I did not pay immediately. I called Vrbo, they confirmed with Alpine mgmt that my payments were complete, and they (Vrbo) never got back to me. Next time I will try to book directly with Alpine Mgmt if possible. Alpine Mgmt was excellent, Vrbo was not.We had a wonderful week of hiking!
Great house but water heater needs to be addressed for larger groups
The views are phenomenal - having morning coffee on the back deck while watching the deer grazing as the sun rose was incredible. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, the neighbors are friendly, and we loved the kitchen/living room with their huge windows.
Unfortunately, we had water heater issues throughout our stay. A valve broke on our first day, which the property management company immediately had fixed. But even once repaired, we continued to have problems.
The water heater's capacity was such that we could only get through 2 - 2.5 showers for our family of five before it went cold. Having to plan for the water to reheat so we could all finish showering meant adjusting our schedule each day and planning for extra time at the house. As we come to CB to be outside and exploring as much as possible, this was disappointing and frustrating.
Wife and I stayed 2 weeks from late Feb to Early March. Daughter and son-in-law joined us for 3 nights. Beautiful and super comfortable home with extraordinary back porch view of snow covered gentle hills and mountains. The night sky view is truly breathtaking. It’s well equipped as per the VRBO listing. We needed for nothing else. Easy to walk (w/o equipment or ski boots) to mountain base, and easier to use the on demand small shuttle that has a ski and board carrier attached. Going to town requires shuttle transfer. So, Having a car is recommended -not undoable- for town trips. Come back to your own driveway parking, not hope for one in large garage. An under-appreciated luxury at most ski resorts. Everyone in management I interacted with for minor issues or information was immediately responsive and generously helpful. The most constructive note I have is also my surprise. Why is the driveway not paved? It did create some mud headaches especially having a small dog with us. If I owned the place it would be a high priority to protect it. Yes we took shoes off used disposable dog pads at entry, but for repeated (moving in-out, groceries, etc). We kept covering it with the piled up snow on sides almost daily. I’m sure neighbors and observers thought us lunatic reversing a cleared driveway with a hand shovel. But that was definitely preferable to muddy gravel. We highly recommend this home to forget your world for some days.
This stay was great. Check in/out was smooth & instructions were clear. Pleased to see they had all kitchen necessities extras left my previous visitors. Plenty of extra towels, bedding, etc. Would stay again!
What a gorgeous property! Our group really enjoyed our stay. Can’t beat the view out the back. Even as a pet friendly property, the house was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the essentials (and more!). Would absolutely recommend this place and we hope to return sometime!
The check-in and out process was very easy. The kitchen area lacked in hot pads for oven food and not many kitchen towels either. There were only 4 spoons?! Luckily, we weren’t soup eaters. There was aluminum foil, but no baggies of any size for leftovers, etc. the towels in the bathrooms were the hardest, most uncomfortable towels I have ever used.
We stayed 4th if July weekend for 4 days. Location was perfect! View from the back onto wildflower fields and mountain range unbelievable. Service was great too!
Only a few issues. No A/C. To be fair I didn’t check for it but it got very hot on the afternoon (thermostat clocked 82 in the afternoon inside). Master bedroom windows had no screens so we couldn’t open them to sleep. Coupled awful pillows, we didn’t sleep for 4 nights, so didn’t end up being relaxing.
House extremely clean on arrival! However, there was an unpleasant odor downstairs that smelled like animal/urine. Also many windows did not have screens so not ideal for no air conditioning (though typical of Colorado homes) and summer bugs which made bedrooms fairly warm and uncomfortable. We contacted property manager (this is the first time I’ve ever called a rental manager to express frustration in the years I’ve been renting vacay homes) who honestly seemed a little condescending and frustrated and even told me there were “no bugs in Crested Butte” when I expressed concern about leaving windows open at night with no screens. That being said, she was there early the next morning with someone ready to install screens in windows and clean the carpets and even brought a new fan. The ability to open windows thereafter was perfect! The odor was definitely better too. I much appreciated the prompt attention but I have to say I felt frustrated with how I was talked to on the phone. I realize I called with a complaint which no doubt is frustrating but I’ve never been a complainer or picky renter and I guess I expected a little better reception even if it wasn’t sincere. But again, I rly appreciated the very prompt resolution to the concerns. As far as the rest of the house, it is a great house! The view from the back is beautiful. It was well-appointed. I didn’t love the neighborhood and wasn’t expecting it to be so close to other houses but may have missed it in description.
