About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
A cosy cottage within easy reach of the Burren National Park & Historic sights.
'Druid cottage' has it's name from the locality Glendree, which has a few translations 'Glen of Druids' Glen of Kings or Glenn of Magic!
A much loved quirky renovated 300yr old+ farm cottage in the heartland of Co.Clare. Situated in a rural scenic landscape, wonderful hiking trails, castles, megalithic sites, farms, lakes, wildlife, horse riding, fishing, water sports and traditional music.
Within a 1 hr drive from Lough Derg, The Burren National park, The Wild Atlantic way, Galway and Limerick cities.
30 mins too Shannon airport, Bunratty castle, Ennis and Lough Derg.
Connemara and Dingle may also be reached on a day trip during the summer evenings.A small but spacious self catering open plan cottage situated on a hillside in the scenic Clare Lakelands and East Clare walking trail.
Although this cottage is "Off the beaten track" its a fantastic hub to all the attractions and a lovely relaxing homely return after a long day.
Ideal for holiday, weekend break or a long stay for people working from home.
Solo travelers have the reassurance of knowing that they are not entirely alone as I live in main house beside the cottage. I'm sometimes available to socialise over a coffee or tea while also respecting my guests privacy.
Please take note of the rustic and securely fixed wooden ladder (as seen in the photos) to the mezzanine bedroom. The bed is a comfortable double mattress on the floor as the height of a full bed would be too near the ceiling. There is also double pull out sofa bed in the main room.
Bathroom and kitchen are just off the main room.
The kitchen shelves store tea, coffee and the usual condiments and Seasonal Organic vegetables can be bought along with unpasteurised, milk, cheese and yogurt from the nearby Organic farm which is a small walk up the lane opposite the cottage.
Fiber optic broadband Internet is installed in the cottage at no extra cost.
Heating is electric background heat included in price. If full 24hr heating is required we read the electric meter and charge for extra usage.
The cosy wood burning stove is an added bonus but not included in the price, wood can be bought at service stations or local grocery stores and hardware merchants.
Washing machine and dryer is not often used by guests do its not included in the price
Those who wish to use these facilities, there is an honesty box by the machines for your contribution.
Iron and board and a small hairdryer are in clothes closet.
During the winter season this cottage is available for long term letting at an agreed price.
