About this property

The Sleeping Ute Tiny Home

  • This is our BRAND NEW tiny home (NEW LISTING) that has an amazing open floor plan, sitting on 9 acres with views of Mesa Verde, Ute Mountain, a pond filled with wildlife, and our free roaming chickens.

    The space
This tiny home was built by a builder who was 6’7” tall and you will be wowed by its size and open floor plan. It has a full kitchen for basic cooking, a full size bed on the loft (with a tall ladder and in-wall USB charging ports) and a comfortable full size futon that is uniquely stored under the bathroom’s partially lofted floor. We also have a fold down futon couch. An apartment style bathroom with a large shower and flush toilet is situated on the opposite side of the home from the loft sleeping area.

Cellular service works good. Our internet is good in the tiny house. Guests have no problem with remote work and video conferencing.

    Guest access
Feel free to explore our property, the pond, and visit with the chickens and geese.

    Other things to note
We wash EVERY piece of linen between guests and throughly clean and sanitize EVERY surface. We take this pandemic very seriously, practice social distancing, and are mindful of everyone’s health and safety.

The loft is high, without railings. So if you toss and turn, this may not be for you. There is the pull out full size bed or the memory foam full size futon if sleeping high isn’t for you.

The water heater is 6 gallons which provides a solid hot shower for ~7 minutes. The water heater also recharges fairly quickly, but please be mindful of this, especially if you’re sharing the home with others.

We live in an economically depressed area and we pride ourselves in providing more than a living wage for our cleaning staff. We often cringe at these fees, but the cleaning fee helps us offset some of that cost.

If you are planning a large get together or family reunion, this could be your place as we have three other well-spaced Airbnbs on our property: The Mesa Verde Casita, The Mesa Verde Tiny House, and The Four Corners Tiny House.

We have animals on the property including dogs (limited to our main house and main house backyard), two affectionate roaming cats, free roaming chickens (only one rooster though), and a lot of wildlife in the pond near the tiny home.

Tiny home

This was a cute place and a great location for visiting Mesa Verde, but it's not for everyone. The loft bed is quite hard to get in and out of because of limited headspace (I'm slim and 5'2") and the space generally felt cramped. The hosts were friendly and responsive and the chickens are fun.

This house is so thoughtfully designed! The appliances and fixtures are brand-new and the decorations are great. It was a lovely place to come back to after a day of exploring Mesa Verde. Communication with the hosts was quick and seamless. Highly recommend!

We had never stayed in a tiny house before. It was so nice and comfortable. The only thing about it that was hard for us was sleeping up in the loft. The ladder was very hard to climb up since it was straight up. However the tiny house does have a futon or a pull out bed if you cant get up the ladder.
