"Amazing from start to finish! Incredible views if you get a room overlooking the river. The parking is a bit tricky as it is not owned by the hotel. I had read the reviews about getting ticketed before you even got the chance to check in, so I had my husband sit in the car while I got us checked in and registered the vehicle so we didn’t run into that problem! There was a bit of confusion about the free breakfast that was offered when I booked the hotel. It hadn’t shown it was included when I checked in, so I just provided my confirmation email stating it was indeed included. And btw, the buffet breakfast is incredible! Fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, bacon, eggs, so much to choose from! We’ll definitely return!"

"The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are lovely! I asked for a kettle and had it in the room on arrival. The onsite lounge and restaurants are excellent. The Culinary Unicorn was a really great spot. I only gave it a 4/5 for the lack"

"The bar had no Caesars or Cosmopolitans. Out of triple sec (in Edmonton!) we were told. But the lady in the breakfast restaurant was awesome, front desk staff was nice and the room was very spacious and clean."

"The Hotel Macdonald is a beautiful historic hotel. We were excited to stay here for our anniversary. Reception upgraded us to a deluxe room with a city view, however unfortunately, the room was located next to the elevator which we could hear rolling all night long. Sounded like a train most of the time. The room itself was spotless which we greatly appreciated. Part of the hotel was also under renovation which impacted the full experience of this Michelin key hotel. Although it was a little disappointing we did enjoy our stay overall."
