A not surprising review after your belligerent ways and written attempts to have us reimburse you or else. To respond with accuracy, you called yelling at my husband for the coffee maker not working and for ruining your morning. When he brought you a new coffee maker (literally 5 minutes later) you said it was too late, that your morning was ruined and you left an hour early. You then wrote veiled threats for a reimbursement for your stay. We decided we were not going to be manipulated via threats & turned you into VRBO.. All of what you wrote minus your personal opinions is incorrect. I will respond to each one in hopes that it will set the record straight for future travelers that are assessing our studio apartment. 1st, you said the rooms are under lit. What is accurate is that the living room and bathroom lights have dimmers. They go from bright to dim. You may not have noticed this feature when you said the bathroom and living room were under lit. 2nd, you said there are multiple entry points into the studio. This is definitely inaccurate. What is accurate is that there are two. One from the inside which is locked and alarmed in both directions for the good of the guest and us. Then there is an outside entry door that takes you out to the covered patio and walkway. 3rd, you said there were too many pillows and it is odd that we offered so many. What is accurate is that we offer many different types of quality pillows (from Westin, Hilton, The Sands) because sleep can be difficult when traveling. We want our guests to have a choice & select a pillow that is best for them. They are kept in the closet. So that info is provided to our guests in written form. 4th, you said the bedding was smelly and implied it was not clean. What is accurate is that all the bedding including mattress pad, down and alternative down comforters with duvets are washed between guests with an excellent killing of all bacteria detergent and then we use a for sensitive skin & natural fabric softener. We are excellent in this area in part due to our standards and also because we want our guests to receive what we would like. 5th, you said the AC is noisy. What is accurate is that the AC is quiet and less than a year old. We installed a completely separate from the main house AC and Heating System for our guests due to the COVID crisis. It seems to us that it is ideal for a guest's health to offer a separate HVAC system. In addition, we have 2 air purifiers in the studio apartment. 6th, you said the cicada's were noisy and bothered you. What is accurate is that one could only hear the cicadas outdoors. Cicada's are insects and are noisy. They only come out every 17 years including they came out in your area which is 30 minutes from us. Regardless, they are now gone. But it is the woods. Birds, squirrels, and insects make noises that come with being in the woods. You said you wished you would have brought ear plugs because of the cicadas. Ear plugs were provided as well as shower caps and numerous other extras in the bathroom. We try to make sure our guests have what they need in case they have forgotten something. 7th, you said the cost was high ( the price you wrote was higher by approx $50 than what you actually paid) and implied going to a hotel is a better choice. What is accurate is that our price is low in comparison to the hotels near us. As other guests have told us, you receive much more here in comparison to a hotel for the price $95 a night & a one time cleaning fee of $60.. Yet hotels are wonderful and they have their place of importance. 8th, you said the studio apartment "is under someone's house". What is accurate is that our home was built onto the slope of the land which gave us have a lower level walkout. This is where the studio apartment is located. It is part of our home while functioning separately. 9th, you said there is a lit Christmas tree in the corner that bothered you. What is accurate is that there is a small 12" lit rustic tree that one can turn on or off as one chooses. 10th to finish, you were belligerent to my husband because the Keurig broke during your stay. When he brought you a new one within 5 minutes you said it was too late & that it ruined your Father's Day. Expressing ones frustration is good but being belligerent when doing so is just plain wrong. I hope I have responded in a way that allows for future guests to have a truthful understanding.
