Hazards Hideaway - Freycinet Holiday Houses
Ideal holiday retreat away from the maddening crowd.
Two separate sleeping houses for your privacy whilst travelling with friends. “The Waterfront” and “The Boat House”.
You will enjoy this property all to yourself because the two freestanding villas are only let to one group at a time.
Couples will love The Waterfront villa, with each room showcasing that incredible view.
Friends can stay in The Boat House, which holds the first-storey suite with its own deck and breathtaking outlook. It all comes together to create the ultimate package for a relaxing escape that you won’t want to leave.
For the bird lovers – Abundant bird life all year round. Seasonal dolphin and whale sightings.
BBQ facilities, Free Wi-Fi Included, 106cm TV/DVD Player in Waterfront & 80cm TV/DVD Player in Boat House, wood fire (the fireplace can be used from May to September only), reverse cycle air-conditioning, electric heating and electric blankets. Luxury King/twin and queen bed. Comfortable furnishings, fully equipped kitchen with gas cooktop for the gourmet chef.
A few minutes’ walk to the beach. Short drive to the golf course, Friendly Beaches, Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay village.
Due to the floor plan of separate sleeping areas and the proximity of the unfenced cliff close by, Hazards Hideaway is not suitable for young children.
A few days of relaxing at Hazards Hideaway may be all you need to recharge your batteries. Our greatest assets are the views of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards, the abundant birdlife and regular seasonal sightings (May-Oct) of dolphins and whales… from your very own sitting chair or bed.
If however, this is not enough there is much to see and do at Coles Bay. Home of the Internationally known Freycinet National Park it’s easy to start with a bushwalk or climb up Mt. Amos. A swim at Wineglass Bay is a must if the weather permits.
Pied oystercatchers, gannets, pelicans, shearwaters, fairy terns, cormorants, sandpipers, pacific seagulls, yellow wattlebirds, rosella parrots, swallows. We even have a pair of sea eagles that live nearby.
Moulting Lagoon ( Ramsar site) is a haven for all manner of water birds, including migratory waders. On a summer evening watch, the Shearwaters fly home to their burrows at Swansea. Don’t miss a penguin tour at Bicheno where these amazing little birds walk only feet away.
This property has two separate buildings. The main part of the house is called “The Waterfront”. When you book for 2 guests you are booking the one-bedroom (as a couple in a king bed or 2 single beds) in the main house. Only if you have a 3rd or 4th guest, you are then booking the rear building (which is separate but connected by a courtyard).

Almost 180 degree water views and Million dollar sunsets. About 10 minute drive to Coles Bay, but the kitchen has all the utensils so we ended up eating in to enjoy the view.

Hazards Hideaway
Feedback: The door leading to the bathroom needs to be fixed. Scrapes along the tiles and makes a noise. All windows needed a clean. Furniture on deck is faulty and either needs repair or replaced. No where to put shampoo, soap etc in shower other than the floor. Otherwise the stay was ok. Nice that the heater was on when we entered the house as it was a cold day. Nice that there was an electric blanket. Furniture and flooring inside was of good standard. Inside house was clean other than the windows. Which is important because of the view.
While the views and location were the standout aspects, there was little to fault in the property in general. Clean, comfortable, generally well appointed and overall a very enjoyable stay.
This was a beautiful property with the most amazing uninterrupted view across Great Oyster Bay. Stay, you will not be disappointed.

Fish odour in house
To whom it may concern,
On arrival to the main house we unlocked the door, walked inside and was greeted with a very strong, fish odour. I opened the fridge and had a good smell and then I smelt the bin and then I smelt the oven and it seemed to be coming from there. The smell didn’t really go the whole two days we were there so we had to keep the windows and door open as much as possible. You may want to mention this to the cleaners. They need to clean the oven.
Having to put up with the odour was a shame, and I feel if you are going to charge that amount of money per night then everything needs to be up to a very high standard.
Unfortunately this was not the case!
