"A good variety for breakfast options.
Location perfect spot as you are easily able to walk out to the shopping area. Bus stop located just outside for trip into Oxford.
Lighting in dining room is abit dim. Gives an effective look but for anyone with a visual impairment it makes it difficult to read menu etc. We enjoyed our stay. Perfect for a mini breakaway to attend a wedding locally."

"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). The bathroom was great too, shower a little on the less-powerful side, but I expected that seeing...

"For a budget hotel it was perfectly adequate. Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful. No noise issues despite being a city centre location. Cleanliness was fine.
City centre location is excellent. Park and ride bus stops were right outside. We were there for the theatre which was just opposite. Most convenient. Would stay again"

"We stayed here for the night as we were going to the Farmers Dog pub for dinner.
This is a great pub/restaurant with rooms. We were in the annexe across the court yard. Room was nice with plenty of space . Complimentary water, hot drinks, biscuits, shower toiletries and comfy top quality bedding. The only downside was the shower was a little awkward. Big waterfall shower but fitted a bit close to the taps so in order to be underneath it you had to stand right by the taps over the plug hole and it didn’t flow that fast. But we weren’t too bothered by that as only one night stay.
We sat in the bar and had drinks, staff were friendly and polite, nice atmosphere.
We had breakfast which was yummy with plenty of choice.
Overall a nice place to stay, would stay here again. "
"We booked to stay for two nights in celebration of my sisters pending wedding. We were are a group of 10 women mid 30s to 50s. Thorn house was loved by all of us, it had everything we needed, plenty of space and beautifully decorated. There are shops near by and you get 30% off a specific chinese takeaway when staying at Thorn house. We explored Oxford, which is a 30 min drive. Host was responsive with my questions and providing information. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for providing a perfect setting to make memories. "
"Arrived close to closing time and was warmly greeted by publcan, staff and pub regilars.
Felt safe and was well fed at breakfast time. Nice to hear other guests talking about their intended visitsof the day.
Publican helpful with my additional enquiries and offered suggestions of taxis to get to and from a venue..
Lovely lunch eaten after checking out.
Beer Garden well looked after and village was nice to wander around with further walks suggested, if required.
The place is cared for.
Would go again 8f opportunity arises."

The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). The bathroom was great too, shower a little on the less-powerful side, but I expected that seeing as I was in a small hut and not a house. The internet service was reliable. I used the swimming pond, which was blissful and such a good size - cold to get into, but very easy to stay a long time once you're in. The location is peaceful and very green. (It's on a flightpath, which didn't bother me, I enjoyed seeing the planes going over every now and then.) I went on a nice walk on footpaths leading out of the estate and back through the village where I stopped at the pub for a drink on the way. Just wonderful. I will 100% come back here for some peace and some time to myself."
