There have been a few comments about the state of the house on arrival, but it was perfectly clean when we got there. Perhaps a pint of milk in the fridge, tea and coffee too might have been helpful, but I find the spec for any house on arrival varies enormously, whoever you book with. In any case, Trevene is great and we would certainly come again. The house is spacious and well-equipped. It is perfectly positioned for walks out, for dipping in either lake and for strolling down to The Bridge or the Buttermere Court for a bite. Please note, if you don't know Buttermere, the nearest shop is Lower Lorton and for a big shop you have to go to Cockermouth or Keswick. But that's the charm of the place. The conservatory is a fabulously bright space, even during a dull week in November. We also loved the library and the owners' African touch. If you know, you know. A must.
