The house was basically clean. Our room was clean and the bedding clean. The kitchen had all the appliances and utensils needed. The location was gorgeous. Views are beautiful and we enjoyed traveling through Salida and neighboring towns.
If you're looking for a super upscale, white-linen place, keep looking, this is not it. What it IS is a wonderfully cozy and comfortable cabin with everything needed for a great stay. The beds are comfortable, the TV is large and worked well, there is WIFI and a washing machine/dryer and wonderful couches and recliners. The deck was wonderful, with hummingbirds flitting about and horses in the pasture. The owners are also super responsive and nice. Even though the space is comfy, get out and explore! Salida, just up the road, is a quaint and attractive former mining town with a wonderful art-and-food-filled downtown. Canon City is about an hour's drive and worth it with so much to see and do. Enjoy!
Gorgeous views, lovely and spacious home, near fun little mountain town of Salida. We enjoyed skiing at Monarch and ringing in the new year in downtown Salida. Host was friendly, easily reachable, and gave lots of thorough instructions and ideas for things to do.
Loved this house!Comfortable beds, clean spacious bathrooms, good sized kitchen and awesome patio! The view was beautiful as well.Salida is just down the road with awesome restaurants and plenty of shopping. I wish we could have stayed longe!

Amazing Views!
Amazing view of the mountains and a lot of wildlife. Deer came right up by the back porch several times. Very spacious and great location. Located between Cañon City and Salida- the drive between these towns is beautiful. Cabin is quiet and private. Great place to vacation!
We had a great stay. Excellent location for fishing Arkansas River and we did day trips to Monarch and San Dunes. Cabin is nicely located among some ranches/farms with good privacy and away from roads. Saw deer and elk from the cabin most days. Excellent place for a low-key reunion with friends. Great communication from owner and property management company.

I want to go back!
This fantastic mountain home was so comfortable, quiet, and offered a beautiful 360º view of the mountains and a few nearby horses. The home was so nice and clean and had anything you could possibly want (e.g. grill, gas fire pit, laundry, kitchen necessities, and more). I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet escape that's not too far from civilization.

Perfect place to get away for a last weekend of summer vacation.
Cabin is absolutely perfect! Plenty of room to relax or hike and explore.
Close trip to the Royal Gorge bridge to include white water rafting. Salida is west, has great shops and the small owned restaurants are great!
Highly recommend and looking to book again for ski season at Monarch Mountain.
We thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful stay at this Coledale, CO cabin! It is beautifully situated in a gorgeous mountain valley. We enjoyed waking up to snow on the mountains, beautiful sunrises, and coffee on the deck to take it all in. We also enjoyed watching and visiting with the horses, and the evenings gave us brilliant star-filled skies! The roads to get there and to visit the area follow the beautiful Arkansas river. We did need to plan ahead for food and gas, though, as there are not many amenities close by or open, especially in the “off-season” when we visited. Our host was very helpful, and checked in on his frequently. The cabin is very well appointed and well stocked, which we greatly appreciated! We definitely recommend this Mountain Valley Paradise to anyone looking for a wonderful stay!

A Wonderful Relaxing Escape was the goal and was very much accomplished!
This place was definitely created with a lot of love and appreciation for the natural beauty of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and community. We were awe struck by the silence, views and comfort of this place. The silence was only broken by the occasional sounds of the neighboring horses grazing throughout the day, sounds of night crickets and an occasional elk bugle. The deer crossed in groups in the early morning light. We were there on a new moon so the star gazing and photography was spectacular at night. We experiences the wonderful fall colors of the area during the day. The cabin accommodates enjoyment of all of these amenities with comfortable outdoor/indoor sitting areas and a very complete kitchen for preparing good comfort cuisine. The indoor decorum also has lovely knick-knacks, hanging art and admirably crafted construction to admire while relaxing. Appreciated the cleanliness as well.On more than one occasion we took wonderful hikes on the Hayden Creek Trail in the San Isabel National Forest, trails within a 10 minute drive from the cabin. The trees in this forest area are diverse (Douglas firs, Ponderosas, Cottonwoods, Oak, aspen, spruce, etc.) all growing together healthy and very large compared to other Colorado forest areas we've been. We also identified many Ute tended trees, giving an historical element to the area.We slept well, ate well, relaxed well and played well. Our two well-behaved dogs thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness and smells of the place as well. They also slept MUCH. Definitely a place we would return to for another stay.
Great place - lots of room to gather for enjoying the outdoors, a meal, or sports on TV. The deck was especially nice as were the views! So handy to have access to a washer and dryer.
Host was very responsive, great to work with. The place was awesome and breathtaking views. We will be back. Very clean and well maintained. Made all our meals there and had all the right utensils.
