Beautiful Bush Retreat, Entire home in Clydesdale, Australia

This cottage is famous! Kate was filmed building this home for the hit ABC's TV show Restoration Australia in 2019. If you loved the show but would like a few more mod cons this beautiful dwelling is for you. Nestled on 1.5 acres of trees and garden you will connect with nature and the romantic surrounds.
Easily located half way between Daylesford and Castlemaine there is much to see and do or simply enjoy a lay in a hammock, listen to birds or read a book.
The space
The Beautiful Bush Cottage is a one bedroom house set on 1.5 acres.
It was built next to the two original 1850’s minors cottages to supply the modern conveniences.
The Cottage has a private outlook and garden. There is a fenced courtyard connected to the cottage to keep your doggies safe, please keep them on the leash when in the adjacent garden.
Inside there is a main open plan room with kitchen, dining and lounge. The kitchen is equipped with all you need to make meals. There is a full sized fridge, gas oven and stove.
A large bedroom with a queen size bed and draw space. A large bathroom is provided with shower, toilet and claw foot bath.
A lovely space to unwind.
Kate and Felicity have studied permaculture and also work at their Permaculture farm in Bendigo. we always keep permaculture principals in mind with the property and cottages. If you are lucky we might leave seasonal gifts of herbs and vegies from the garden !
Guest access
Guests have access to their self contained cottage, gardens and courtyard that is located privately behind the cottage.
There is another cottage on-site so please stay in your own beautiful and private garden.
Other things to note
Kate has built and created this space for peaceful enjoyment. There is lots of lovely things to do. There is a large library of books and games to play.
This is not a place for loud parties.

This is one of three beautiful cottages on the 1.5 acre property. Please see my listing for “Aunty Med’s Cottage, Beautiful 1850s Miner’s Cottage Restoration Australia ”. We also adore living in the one closest to Kate's heart. Each cottage has a private, separate garden.
We make a big effort to ensure you enjoy your privacy and peace whilst staying.

Clydesdale retreat
I really enjoyed staying in Kate and Felicity's space. The bath and being able to have a fire were treats and I love the history of the place, and all the love and care that Kate put into restoring the miners cottages. Though this cottage is not old, much care has been taken to create old world charm within it. I didn't anticipate the road noise, but overall it didn't disturb the tranquility for me. Waking to birdsong was a joy.

Bucolic Bliss
Daisy, the dog and me had a wonderful mid-week break from the city at Hillview. The tranquility was sublime and the peace a soothing balm. Felicity and Kate run a great property and are very welcoming. Daisy could not get enough of lazing on the trampoline bed in the sun. And what great weather for wandering through the veggie patch and staring at the stars! BJ & Daisy

A magic retreat
A haven! Peaceful, quiet area, looking out over gardens and some bush, among a cluster of cottages. The bush retreat was private, welcoming and warm on a few cool days. Felicity and Kate were super helpful and hospitable, left the light and heater on for our arrival, had lots of small touches: bath crystals, hot chocolate and marshmallows. Great bed, shower and bath, full breakfast basket and supplies, books, hand embroidered tea towels and tablecloth, quirky things to look at, lots of information, and well equipped kitchen. We loved the morning light and clear starry nights, the gardens, it was comfortable and inviting and slightly magical, we’ll be back!

Relaxing Easter weekend
The cottage was gorgeous with interesting decorations. It was easy to have the dogs and take them for walks in the bush. Kate’s directions and information was very accurate. It was a great spot to do birdwatching and central to Castlemaine and Maldon to do cycling trails. The neighbors are lovely too:-)
